3 month post op

by Sallynmichigan on 08-24-2017 at 12:07 PM
Well, things are going fairly well. Although I am struggling with my food intake. It just seems like everything I eat makes me sick to my stomach. I usually take my walk after I eat so I can feel like I have digested my food. My weight loss is slow, but it is what it is. This month was better than last month so that is positive. I thought at this weight, I could ride my bike, but it's not happening yet. It is my thighs and knees that keep me from it. But I still have hope before the end of fall

Week 5

by Sallynmichigan on 06-30-2017 at 12:53 AM
This has been quite the journey so far. I saw my surgeon today but first was a nurse who wanted to talk to me. I explained how I have been weak and dizzy. I also explained that I have been taking calcium, D3, iron and b12. I also mentioned that I took my blood pressure for the last four days thinking it might have something to do with the dizziness. It almost felt like vertigo but they immediately, (her and the surgeon) felt I was dehydrated. However they decided to run a CBC and another blood

Week 3.5

by Sallynmichigan on 06-18-2017 at 09:28 PM
I haven't posted for a while only because I don't want to seem like I am complaining when I hear all these stories of rapid weight loss right after surgery and not only that but how much exercising everyone is doing right after surgery.

I am experiencing slow weight loss, a lot of pain around my stomach...like when I lean over to pick something up, I can feel my stomach. Then I have a knot on my sternum that was never there before. I am having a problem with dehydration for some reason.

Week 1.5

Well, it's funny, but every day I get better and better and yet today I had a set back. I can't place my finger on why I was so weak today. The temperature is getting warmer out and I guess I wasn't prepared for this early morning situation with my brother.

Yesterday, my brother came over to help me take my garbage out because I didn't want to lift anything. He took me to Home Depot so I could buy a new patio umbrella and have him put it in for me too. So today, he came over not too

First Post op doctor follow up

by Sallynmichigan on 06-01-2017 at 04:54 PM
Had my first visit with my surgeon today. It was weird because I was in with him for about 2 minutes! He looked at my stomach, said that it was healing nicely and that I have lost 22 lbs since May 7th and he was happy with that. I guess I was expecting greater weight loss.

I think it's important to note that although it's only been a week since my surgery, I had to learn alot on my own. For example, I was so weak and couldn't get my fluids in. I realized that the gas was awful, so
