Thank you but I did not go. My daughter is type 1 diabetic and got pneumonia and was septic due to a really bad UTI. She was put in ICU so I was unable to go. At this point I don't know if I will be able to reschedule or just box the whole thing.

Thank you Muchomedic! It is an amazing surgery. It is hard and it is work but it is soooo worth it! We are all in this journey together to help and support each other along the way. And post op, it helps to talk to people who are in your shoes. It helps you not feel isolated on this journey. People who are not going through it cannot really grasp what we are dealing with.

Thanks for the kind words. Surgery was great. Everyday has become markedly better with recovery.

Hello, sorry just checked my email. Dr. Almanza just started using a brand new facility called Green and Health. I was one of the very first patients to have the surgery there. Its very nice and very clean although like any other hospital, the beds aren't very comfortable after having surgery, but honestly that made it easier for me to want to get up and walk lol. The Nurses are very sweet and attentive. My favorite was a cute little girl with glasses named Danni, she was soo sweet and helpful. Now unless they have changed designated Hotels the new hospital is about a 30 minute ride rather then the 5 minutes it took to get to HNM Hospital, but its totally worth it. The Hotel staff is amazing, super nice and will do anything for you, be sure to tip the bellhops and they will be at you beckon call you entire stay, Alonzo and Carlos were great they got us a mini fridge for the room and made multiple trips to the store for my mother-in-law to get us whatever we needed, they would also bring me broth from the restaurant any time I wanted. The Nurses at the hotel were also very nice and were only a phone call away any time, Alex was my favorite, she was awesome! I have been very fortunate in this process, No gas Pains after the first night, no digestive issues, and felt great since day 2! I hope you get to have a great experience as I did

I'm just starting and getting myself situated with a surgeon. Dr. Almanza's staff will contact me again tomorrow hopefully with the actual reason I have been denied. I'm confused because I have had very good health other than controlled blood pressure. Anxiously awaiting their response. Welcome and look forward to your sharing of your journey. ~Katie
