You're welcome. Remember, this is for you. I am sure just by seeing your picture that you (like me) are a giver to your family and friends. Now it's your turn, this is for you and you deserve it. Not being arrogant but being positive that it's your turn to do something just for you. Besides, if you're not healthy who is going to take care of everyone else? Right? I will pray for you and your Dr. and staff. Push all the negative emotions aside and only think positive.
  2. Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. My date is fast approaching!!

Hello, I am over 50 and had the sleeve 6 months ago and the surgery went very well. No complications. The one thing that I can tell you is to be prepared. Have plenty of protein drinks available, and sip water always. I mean carry it with you. It will be very easy to get dehydrated and end up in the hospital. I wish I would have bought the premier protein drinks and had them available. I did well on the water but not so good on the protein and eating. But all in all, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck and I am sure you'll be fine. Lea

10 Days Out and Need Some Advice!

by kshaffer on 03-19-2017 at 09:47 PM
I had ny surgery on March 10th and seem to be doing well, except I can't tolerate the shakes since surgery and struggling with vitamins. I switched to the carnation Instant breakfast and am able to drink it. I can't find a chewable item that doesn't make me nauseous. I'm so ready to start some soft foods. I'm wondering if cottage or oatmeal would be ok.

7 days post op and need some suggestions

I had my surgery on March 10th and it went quite well. I woke up feeling like I had an elephant sitting on my chest, but was up and walking once I got back to my room. The mouth swabs were a life saver for my dry mouth and no water or ice chips allowed.I went home in two days and am recovering slowly. I feel very tired with no energy. I'm drinking two protein shakes and water. The shakes that I loved prior to surgery are making me nauseous.I'm going to try the instant breakfast. I got some V8 which

Help! I ate French Onion Soup

by kshaffer on 03-07-2017 at 05:27 PM
I am having gastric sleeve surgery on Friday and I ate french onion soup. I didn't eat the bread, but ate the onions and cheese. This is the only cheating I did in this two week preop liquid diet. How will this affect my surgery? I'm so mad at myself!!!
