19 days post surgery. Not getting many calories

Can anyone tell me if eating between 400 and 600 calories a day is normal? Right now I am at 357 for the day with diarrhea. 160 of those calories is a protein shake. Is this normal? Should I be able to eat more than this? This is a slow death.
