    Good luck with your surgery
  11. My name is Rhonda Turner if you'd like to add me on Facebook. Might be easier to communicate!
  12. She didn't tell me to lose anything before surgery. I've only lost 8lbs in 2 weeks, which doesn't seem like much to me. I literally cannot think of anything else...I just know she's going to cancel my surgery. I'm totally freaked out! Guess I'll know in a little more than 12 hours. Honestly, I'll be ok either way but I really really REALLY don't want to have to do this liquid diet all over again. I will definitely keep you posted! Thanks for the uplifting words! I need all the encouragement I can get! I hope things go smoother for you!
  13. It's been really rough, I'm not gonna lie. I've had three major cheats over the last two weeks (I'm talking garlic cheese bread sticks and a quarter pounder with cheese from mcdonalds) and I've only lost around 6-7 lbs. I'm SCARED TO DEATH that Dr. Hawver is going to cancel my surgery. I'm totally freaking out right now. Maybe I'm not really ready for this after all. Hubby thinks I'm over reacting but I'm really scared that I've jumped through all these hoops for nothing. Sorry for dumping on you! I hope I'm not scaring you!
  14. Thinking about you, RhondaRNl as you are just a couple of days away from your surgery with Dr. Hawver. I'll be sending good thoughts your way.
  15. You're at the stage now that I'm most worried about. Like you, I love good food. and I'm really worried about the liquid diet that she wants two weeks before surgery. The dietician has me on 1400 calories a day, and that's hard enough to stick to! You are so close, though...hang in there. From what I've read, the appetite won't be as much of a struggle after the surgery. You can do this. This part -- the struggle getting ready for the surgery -- is temporary, and maybe if you remind yourself that being hungry right now is a small price to pay for a lifetime of better health, you'll get through it.

I Guess I Need to Buy New Clothes

I don’t post much here, but I visit almost daily to learn from others who’ve had or who are preparing for VSG. I see lots of new people with questions, as well as folks who have been around for a while and who are very inspiring. Some of you are also very real, frankly discussing challenges that we encounter. I’m four months post-op, and I wanted to share some observations from the perspective of someone who has made it through the first few months and has learned a few things along the way. I’m
