  6. Hi!
Gretchen is amazing! She's truly been so supportive. She's not only a nutritionist/dietician but a coach and cheerleader! November 8th is my final appointment with Gretchen and the "after nutritionist program" appointment with Dr Houseworth's office. I think it's insurance preauthorization after that and then they'll call me with my class dates and surgery date... That sound about how it went for you? How was recovery? How was hospital staff? I could totally play 20 questions here. Lol.
  7. I see that you are a patient of Dr. Houseworth! He is great, really understood where I was coming from having been a weight yoyo for decades...and I absolutely loved the staff at his office, the nutritionist (Gretchen) was such an inspiration to me, never judgmental, always helpful etc. I am coming up on my one year surgiversary soon, and am looking forward to going up there for my follow up appointment. The last year really seems to have flown by and the weight really kind of flew off too!

Have you gotten your surgery date yet? Don't worry if you end up having it before the "food holidays" you won't miss them, at least I didn't, really wasn't hungry at all for the first few months post op!

About NttyNrs
Biography:
Hello there,

I'm a 30 something mom, wife, and RN. I was an ICU nurse for the greater part of a decade. I currently work as a consultant/regulator. I'm at my heaviest at 295 pounds. I have been seeing a dietitian for 6 months and have completed all the necessary prerequisites minus my final dietitian visit. My surgery will be in December or January 2016.

I have been "chubby" most of my life. I was a size 14 my senior year of high school. I worked night shift for many years and had a addiction to Second Life. Both of these things, along with, emotional eating brought me where I am today. I've lost and gained as much as 40 pounds over the years. I am excited to finally have a tool that will help me lose the weight and get me back to the active life to once enjoyed.

June of this year I was in Annapolis, Maryland for business and had such a hard time walking around and was unable to enjoy the sights like I wanted. I also needed a seat-belt extender on the plane. That was rock bottom.
