Hi Bridget. I was just reading your post and came by to see how you were doing. Wow. You've done brilliantly. Nearly 100lb down going by your ticker. Well done. You should be proud of yourself. I get you when you say you have bad days. I've just gone through a few myself. I seem to have gotten into the habit of snacking in the evening. I'm great all day and then I end up picking.....which we all know doesn't seem to fill you like a meal does. So today im reading comments and hoping to get back in the right frame of mind. I knew the sleeve wouldn't rid the wanting for crisps and snacks.....I was hoping that I'd be lucky and be able to break the habit. Willpower is required and I just hope I can muster it up from my subconscious. Keep up the good work
  4. Hi Bridget! Just stopped by to say howdy to you! How are things now that you're close to 6 months out?

BTW, do not be scared or embarassed to go to the gym. I know the exact feeling you have. I found that most of mine actually came from not feeling comfortable at the gym with the equipement and getting a work-out routine. I went during off times when I knew less people would be there. Once I had my routine, I didn't even notice the other people. You have to do what makes you happy and remember you are all there for the same goal, lose weight and get healthy.
  6. Hi Bridget! Thank you so much for the Welcome Aboard message. So far I've met more nice folks here than I thought I would! Very nice!

I noticed you're at Kent State... what are you majoring in? And, congratulations on your progress so far! I love you profile picture... you have great curls! Natural? I'm always looking for the perfect product for my naturally curly hair. Easier said then done!

No offense taken. Like I said I work there I know what goes on. Well hopefully everything will continue to go well and we'll have to keep in touch as we go through our journey. Thanks for all your help.

So far I'm happy with everything. I start my pre op tomorrow and meet with Dee and anesthesia on wed. I am worried about the hospital stay. If I understand nothing to eat or drink till the next day. And I have two kids so I dont expect them to stay all day with me.
Are you pretty with it after (not all drugged up)?

Surgery went well!

by bmclark2 on 10-26-2012 at 07:45 PM
Gallbladder is out! Had to go back in because I was nauseous and in pain all day yesterday. Turns out a stone was left in. But that was taken care of today. So I am feeling much better, and looking forward to eating a bit more normally.

Chip craving fix and other suggestions

by bmclark2 on 10-20-2012 at 12:40 PM
While I know carbs are a bit of the enemy, I still get cravings. I decided to try Special K cracker chips (sea salt flavor). A serving size is 30 chips, 110 calories, 2.5 grams of fat, 23 carbs, 0 sugar and 2 protein. While you might be thinking, wow, that's not great... Just stop. I will have these along with whatever protein I am eating. After I eat my protein, I find I can only manage about 10-15 of these fantastic chips! So when you are doing 1/2 or 1/3 of the above stats, they're really not

Fantastic news!

by bmclark2 on 10-17-2012 at 12:32 PM
For over a year, I have been experiencing what I thought was severe gas pain. In the past 6 months, I noticed the pain would get worse and last longer. I moved out to Minnesota (from Ohio) by myself to attend graduate school. Two months in, I had an attack that was so severe, I ended up driving myself to the hospital. There I found out I have gall stones, have had them for awhile, and was now passing them. I ended up with pancreatitis and now have to have my gallbladder removed. I have been having

Yummy hint

by bmclark2 on 07-17-2012 at 01:55 AM
As my friends know, I love putting up recipes or food ideas. If you're a yogurt eater, you really need to check out Stonyfield Oikos. The protein is crazy high (15 points) fat is 0 and the sugar (with plain) is 6. I've taken to adding strawberry sugar free jam to mine, and on occasion I throw in a few peanuts. Brilliantly good. Give it a go!

Vacations

by bmclark2 on 06-19-2012 at 12:22 AM
Can be awful. But, I find that even eating anything I want, as long as I am super active, I don't gain weight. I did notice a bad habit of over eating though. Back home now, I am back to a more regular diet, so lets hope the weight-loss continues!
