Hi Cece, how are you? Was just wondering if you had any luck losing any of those 17 pounds you've gained? I hope so.

    Best wishes,

Hey CeCe!I My surgery was Nov 11 so that makes it 1yr 1/2 out. I am looking for support here as well, I put on 20 lbs from my lowest weight. Hi Cece....4 weeks post op tomorrow & last I checked down 30# (this is including the week of liquid diet) I feel that some people are dropping weight so much faster...I do 30 minutes exercise a day walk 2 miles on treadmill usually and the biggest problem...I can only eat 2 eggs a day with my 2 shakes that is it I try to eat applesauce or something else with the egg and on some days I can eat the whole egg & 2 baby spoon fulls of applesauce...most days only getting 3/4 an egg down. I did find a protein drink that has 30 gms per serving so I get around 66 gm of protein in a day in their range but at this point I feel I will be on protein shakes the rest of my life to get my protein in? How long did it take you before you started to eat more? I have no cravings at all...the kids food smells good but doesn't make me hungry..had birthday party with cake and no desire at all! HELP....I'm worried eggs will be my staple for life...not that I care they are good!! LOL

Thanks so much for your support and I can't wait to update you after my surgery. I did buy a LOT of cream soups but hubby is doing it with me and I told him I prob don't need this much found a broccoli cheese soup that was lower in fat then some of the cream soups. Is that a no no you think?

When can you start exercising? I know I can't do my weights for awhile but can I walk on the treadmill at a slow easy pace daily? I have a Kenny Chesney concert to go to in almost 3 months & want to get as much off as possible! Thanks again....

CeCe...I AM hanging in there & on day #5 of my liquid diet and you know what...I have had no problems at all. The 1st day I started I took a nap when I was hungry & since then no problem at all....diarrhea YES...lol..my hubby is doing it with me & he hasn't lost much according to my scale at my heighest here I am down 12.5# but I am also exercising doing a 20 minute exercise tape daily. Some mornings I wake up weak & dry mouthed but I have had that due to some medications I am on so patiently waiting until Wednesday..nervous, excited, wondering IF I can do this & wondering if this liquid diet was sort of easy for me then WHY didn't I just do it myself...and hubby asks me too...I tell him "YES I can lose weight he has seen it but it never stays off!" Did you ever think if you could really keep the weight off? I am as many of us are addicted to food...I LOVE IT.....Mexican mmmm, Olive Garden, Red Lobster my fav's...will I NEVER Be able to enjoy those foods again? I know the answer is yes just in small quantities but what IF I want a large amount? That is what scares me the most!

Well, today marks my FIRST day on my preop liquid diet...so far so good but it is only 9 in the morning! I tried to cut back but my hubby told me we better have that "last meal" so I enjoyed a tenderloin last night. I am getting tired of my dad throwing a fit because I am having this done as he just seen on the news a new drug that the FDA is getting ready to approve in April for weight loss so he thinks I should wait for it! He has me second guessing my choice but then I get on here & read everyone's success and know that this is the right way to go for me to regain my life & happiness!

What kind of cream soups did everyone purchase for the 3rd day forward that you have to strain? All I can think of is mushroom cream soup.......any other options & ideas would be appreciated! ONE MORE week until surgery...nervous & excitement all rolled in to one

    Hi Cece

Again, had to look at your pic for inspiration as I chug down some water! LOL...what did you do to prepare for your liquid pre op diet? I only have a week to do it and thought I would start drinking more water since I hardly do....when you said you mix your shakes with fruit & froze them do you still do this or was this post-op? Just trying to figure out some tricks as I have 7 kids to take care of between me & my hubby and most days I have no time to eat until they are all in bed then I sit down & gorge! My husband got me a "yonanas" machine for Christmas where you put frozen bananas in it & comes out like soft serve...not bad & can mix with other fruits...just wanting some hints on how to keep the hunger at bay with good foods!

Almost 2 years out!

by Cece42 on 07-06-2013 at 07:44 PM
Holy cow! Time does fly! Well, here I am almost 2 year out to spread my words of wisdom. Did I hit my goal? No. I think one of the reasons I left the board was because it is impossible to not compare your journey to others and I stalled and then slowly began to gain. I'm currently up 17 lbs from my lowest weight.

Acid - the acid issue has never gone away for me. I still take two 15 mg Lansoprazole daily. If I eat like crap, the acid is worse. I discovered I am also sensitive

5 1/2 months

by Cece42 on 02-13-2012 at 07:07 AM
Time does fly! I'm now at 5 1/2 months and down 50 lbs. I have been holding steady since December (2 months) which to many would be annoying but I like the weight I'm at now so I don't mind at all. That being said, I would like to drop the other 15 lbs to get to my doctor's goal weight(my goal weight is 25more)....so what is keeping me?

1. Healing. My stomach is completely healed by now and I certainly can eat a great deal more food than the tiny amount I ate in the beginning.

So, here I am 8 weeks out after my sleeve surgery. I am down 37 lbs, people are starting to notice. Last weekend I had to go out and get some new clothes, my old clothes were too baggy. I started about a size 18/20 and I just bought some jeans in 14s. Oh, I drug up the "skinny clothes" from the basement (12s and 10s) that I've been hanging onto for 10 years! A size 12 looks really small, maybe 10 yrs ago the sizes were smaller. Anyway, I realized that by the time I can actually fit

Week 6

by Cece42 on 10-13-2011 at 07:16 PM
I'm down 32 lbs and loving my sleeve. I have learned some things through my journey:
1. I now like salty, crunchy foods like sunflower kernels or pumpkin seeds (too much, I have to watch my intake of them).
2. Though I weigh daily for the most part, I don't freak out about a slight gain, it will go down.
3. Energy levels can come and go though I now have the energy to get up @ 5:15 and work out instead of sleeping until 6:30.
4. I'm afraid to eat sugar, this was

Ode to Beer

by Cece42 on 10-13-2011 at 07:05 PM
Beer, I'm not going to pretend that I don't miss your sudsy goodness or your beautiful golden color, I do. It's not you, it's me...I've changed. Your bubbles are no longer suitable to my new tummy and so, I'm breaking up with you. We've had many good times together, a few bad times which we won't speak of but, it's over. We weren't always good together and you put my guard down to fried foods and nachos so, it's over. Sure I still love you but for now you'll just have to sit in the fridge and
