Hi,

I was in the general ward and it was fine. It was clean and the staff were very attentive and caring. I was in ICU 1 day and then in the ward for 1 day. The pain relief offered was brilliant. I went through bottles of it but that was more fear of pain rather than actual pain! You can go up to the ward and see it for your self. They show it to you if you ask them.

how many days you stayed in the room ...ithink one day is in ICU and then 2 days in room is that so?

Dr Mumtaz Maher was BRILLIANT. It is the best thing that I have ever had done in my life so if you are thinking about it then I would recommend it. The total package cost was 340,000 pkr and this included everything. Very little dieting involved. Just a 1 day liquid diet before the surgery. The aftercare was also very good. I am from the UK but I live in Karachi and the service was second to none. The dietician support from Dr Parren is also great. I have lost 23 kg now and I feel great.

Same here. Its so great to feel thinner already as I am 13 lbs down too. I love not being hungry and not wanting food! I keep saying its like having a divorce from food! lol...........

Crazy to not be hungry!! I don't know yet how to react to that. I have one larger incision that hurts me bad, but others coming along well. My doc has me on hepran a blood thinner for two weeks. He said he does for all his patients. I hurt bad at first but coming along nicely. I'm already down 18 lbs. Crazy I know tons is water so I'm not expecting it to last at this pace but my face is thinner! Whoo hoo!

Hi. How are you doing? I am now 4 days post op and I am doing fine. I still hurt around my stitches but other than that I am improving daily. How about you? Isn't it great to NOT be hungry!!

Good morning, I know your Doctor didnt require a liquid diet but I would try if you can to do it for a few days prior to surgery. I notice now Im not near as hungry as I was the first couple of days and its supposed to shrink your liver and make it less slippery for surgery, which means they can hold it out of the way easier. I was mad about 2 weeks at first, but then thought it was a good way to teach me to start doing liquids now before Im forced to do it. I wont lie there is some serious will power going on every single day. Its hard to see food and think about food. But if you are drinking the Atkins shakes you get 6 of those a day, which is a lot of protein and you shouldnt feel to hungry. I also started taking my B12 now to help with the energy levels which I know drop when I diet.
I tried the Vanilla shakes and didnt like them, they get really thick and gross when cold and I like my shakes COLD. I like the dark chocolate, Mocha Chocolate and now this Cafe Caramel one. I have the Milk Chocolate but I didnt care for it as much as the other three.

Good luck, I hope this surgery ends up being everything you hoped for. Thats all I can keep thinking, is I hope it helps me in everyway I thought possible!
