Haven't seen any posts from you. How are you Doing?
  2. So how are all of you doing? I think my emotions are finally in check. About 5 days out, I was a basket case for no real reason that I could identify, then kind of in the dumps after that for about a week. I believe it was because I was hurting because of that bulge. Once I was able to stop taking my pain meds, then all got better. I'm back at work and back to my routine, feeling good!!!
  3. Hi everyone!! Thank you for your concern. I am doing fine. Thank God, our house did not flood!!! I have numerous family members who did and some who miraculously did not. We are currently helping my uncle and aunt who are 82 years old and lost everything and had no flood insurance.
My surgery went great. I was in overnight, and released the next day. The only residual affect besides the obvious was that I had a bulge over the largest incision. My doctor had an ultrasound done to make sure it was not a hernia, and thank God again that it was not. He said it was probably a stitch. I agree with him, as I could feel an occasional sharp ripping pain in that area. At this time, it's barely visible. Other than that, I'm still trying to adjust to the new diet. I didn't realize how very hard it was going to be to get in all the protein. As of Wednesday, I have lost a total of 25lbs. I would say that it's been going good. The other issue I've had is the multi-vitamin. I've tried the chewable, the soft chew and the capsule. All of which make me nauseated and the capsule makes me throw up. I'm going to try dissolving the chewable in some water and see if that helps me to be able to tolerate it.
Thank you all for your kind words and concern. You are all in my prayers and I am anxious about hearing from ya'll.

    God Bless,
    Marybe
  4. How is it going? you are about two weeks out now. How are you feeling? I hope you came through the flood ok. My son and my sister's homes were flooded and they have been trying to salvage what they can.

Write back when you feel up to it and tell me everything going on with you, if you feel comfortable doing so. I'm behind you about a week and half and so it will give me an idea of what's down the road.

    Keeping you in my prayers,

    Cyndie

Hi, Marybe! I hope the floods didn't interfere with your recovery. The floods have been devastating to our State (I am from Louisiana, too) but you keep your chin up and get well.

Good luck and prayers for a speedy recovery
  7. Thank y'all so much! I'm nervous, scared, anxious, but honestly hard to get excited with so much devastation around us right now with all this flooding. I pray in making the right decision and it's not to selfish of me to continue on with this surgery. Please pray for me but more importantly, pray for the people of south louisiana!

A week out and tomorrow is surgeon's pre-op appointment

by marybe on 08-09-2016 at 01:14 PM
I can hardly believe my day is so close. It seemed like I would never get this close. Honestly, it's all still pretty numb until I get through my pre-op appointment tomorrow. I think at that point, it will finally sink in that this is really going to finally happen. I can't wait!!! All the ladies and gentlemen on this site have helped me tremendously with questions and their experiences. My prayer is that this surgery seals the deal on a life change decision to become healthy, not for my family,
