Hey Luckygirl, I am also 60 and in the process of starting my journey. I am 5'4 I weigh 214 and have a few health issues. I'm a grandmother of 5 I love to paint (art) not the work kind lol. and I love watching old movies on tv. I would like to keep in touch with the ones that are maybe 60 and older that ids doing this journey. I go to the doctor next week.

    good luck today
  3. Thanks,That certainly makes me feel a lot better. My pool is open and I hope I'll be able to use it very soon PO after all we can shower right? We have a very short season here so I'm going to find a gym with a pool. I have a few ortho issues that are plaquing me right now and walking probally wont work.I'll use my stationary bike and figure it all out. Wish I lived somewhere warmer where I could use this pool all year.

    I'm 64 years young!
I expected some sagging (and wrinkles... LOL). I'm not experiencing any (except my breasts-but they were looking at my feet BEFORE WLS!).
I walk 30 minutes and use Gwee Gym Pro 30 minutes every day. I also swim every day.

    I hope this helps!

Hi Luckygirl, where in Mexico are you having your sleeve and doctor performing it?

I saw your post about your foot and ankle on my blog. I think your weight issues are as important as your mobility, and I think you can take care of both. Talk to your surgeon's team in Mexico, tell them what your Ortho wants to do and ask if there will be a conflict. We must stay mobile, but your can get your bad foot on a scooter while you stroll around. We are not required to do any extraneous exercises, just walk for ten minutes at the hour, and it's important to stay mobile because of blood clot complications, maybe they can give you a blood thinner for your condition. Just a few suggestions. Best of luck.
  7. Hello to you jerzygirl , I live in Lacey which is down by LBI, I will be having surgery june 9th in Mexico,Ive been worried about the support I'll need back home.I can arrange my schedule to make most meeting and driving is not a problem I commute an hour each way to my job. I'm excited but have recently been plaqued with a bad ankle the Dr wants to cast for 2 months,so I wish I didn't have that on my mind. I can't be in a cast post op for mobility reasons p.o .AHHH! Ive had so many orthopedic issues I'm hoping this helps Thank you for your support,I'd love to make the groups meetings

    Hello Luckygirl,
Where in NJ do you live as we have support groups at the hospital I work in now. We'd love for you to join us and it's a great tool for success!
Good luck with the surgery, and I'll be looking for updates on this site.
