You're very welcome! And No Worries! I totally feel you. I feel great where I am at right now, but I'd still like to lose another 20-25 lbs.

Funny thing that I have learned along this post Sleeve life is that what works today, may not work next week. Always keeping in mind the Protein First Rule and choosing nutrient dense foods 98.9% I think it okay to play around with our methodologies.

As a slow loser, I know that staying true to highly nutritious diet will pay off down the road, maybe not so much in numbers, but in overall health in body, heart, mind and spirit.

    Stay the coarse my friend!

    RomanDona,

I read your reply on Kindle's post, and I emphasize with you. I lost the 69% excess fat predicted by my surgeon by month 9. Weightloss has been extremely low since no matter what I do.

For the last two weeks I have been experimenting with Intermittent Fasting (IF).

To do IF basically stop eating at 9 pm, no food substance, only water, until 1pm (16 hour fast). Then you have your nutrient/protein dense meals and healthy snacks during that 8 hour window, which they call feeding window.

I actually do the Bulletproof Intermittent Fast. I bought the book to truly understand the what, why and how. After I got the book I looked up the website and it has some of the essentials there. I love coffee so being able to enjoy a cup of coffee blended with their ultra filtered MTC coconut oil, and cultured ghee first thing in the morning has made IF much easier for me to follow. I also try to follow a modified Paleo Gluten-Free lifestyle as much as possible. Take a read and see if it is something that might help you work through your stall.

Thank you for your kind words on my pics.

104 pounds in a year is such an incredible accomplishment, you should be so proud! I hit some stalls myself, and I switched my exercise routines up a bit and temporarily changed my macros a bit (upped the protein for a week, lowered the carbs to less than 70 for a week, little temporary changes like that) and made sure to ignore the scale for awhile and gauged my weight loss by doing measurements instead and noting how much stronger I was or how much more loose my waistband was. I heard that after a year weight loss slows way down, and that's what happened to me. I actually have found that the weight loss got more steady with less stalls when I increased my caloric intake above 800 calories (but I was still super scared to increase my calories at first). I still have trouble reaching my 1200-1300 calorie goal but I'm working on that.

    You are doing fantastic!

Our starting and goal numbers are super similar, it's nice to be able to see someone who's doing what I will be doing. I look forward to reading all about your journey.

Thanks for being here and inspiring others.
  5. Tomorrow is my official 5 months since surgery. I can really finally see the transformation my body is making. It's taken 80 pounds for me to really see it for what it is. Some friends I haven't see in a while said I was almost unrecognizable - didn't know how to take that, but decided to take it as a compliment.
I'm a little stressed as I've been logging all my food for the past 5 months and plan my day the previous day. We are going on vacation and I'll be overseas where there will be bread, pasta, pizza, etc. I'm planning on bringing protein powder for the AM, which is what I like to do while home. I really don't want to jeopardize my weightloss. I'm still only eating about 950-1000 calories a day. My daily macro goals are protein@80g, Carbs@90g, Fiber@21g, sugar@20g, fat@40g. I've been doing so well trying to hit those macros each day or coming as close as I can. If anyone has any advice for me before my trip, I would appreciate it. I'm packing my food scale as well - I want to be prepared. We won't be eating out too much, but our of 14 days, probably 5 or so times is my guess. Thanks in advance for any advice!!
  6. Had my second post op appointment and I guess I'm doing fairly well. I brought my food diary from My Fitness Pal, which I printed out as I was seeing the nutritionist after my dr. appointment. The appointment went well and they had all my labs. I was shocked when they told me my cholesterol was 145. I asked which part number and they said the whole number!! Ha, don't remember ever seeing that number. All my stats were very good and that's just 49 days after surgery. I'm also down 42 pounds total and even though I've had some stalls, I just don't let them get to me. The nutritionist reviewed my log and said the only problem she saw was that I wasn't have enough fats - really? She told me to add a teaspoon of olive oil or other healthy fat to each day. Also told I need to start to increase my calories, protein, carbs, and fats. I would also like to share that a few weeks ago there was a discussion with keeping carbs low - well she told me to ignore that. Your body needs healthy carbs and I should have between 90-110g daily. So, that's what I'm going to do. Hope this helps others and I'm feeling that I'm moving in the right direction.
  7. So I'm officially one month out. I've lost 20 pounds in my first month since surgery and 17 on the Pre-surgery Liver Reduction Diet, so I'm plugging right along. Scale does move slow. Am thinkng of not weighing myself everyday - but it hasn't happened yet. I'm doing well, but can't seem to eat much at all and struggling to get all my calories and protein in. I'm doing find on water. I'm still eating between 700 and 800 calories a day and am getting at minimum 60g protein. I feel I'm doing well.

I did have an incident with some asparagus that was grilled and not cooked enough. I ate it and I guess I didn't chew it well and it was disturbing and I had to excuse myself, at a restaurant, and it came up. I can't get distracted when I'm eating, I have to be conscious of what I put in my mouth and that I chew it very well. I saved my fish from dinner for another meal. I'm learning every day.

I don't get hungry per se, but I do attempt to eat at dinner time with my husband. I'm attempting to increase my portions a bit but it's been wasteful, but work in progress. I've got a plan to increase my activity since the weather is much nicer now. Good luck all and thanks for listening.

I did want to ask do you have hungry pain, I don't have terrible like I use to when I was hungry, but I definitely know when it time to eat, I get a mild pain, I get nausea and after I eat it goes away but cause having so little it feels like every 2 hours the say issue. Are you having any issue like this.

Hi, Hope that the stall has broken, I had the same issue, I added 15 mins with walking each day, walking 5 to 6 times a week and I am losing oz each day. Keep pushing forward
  10. Hi Everyone,
So I'm two weeks out of surgery tomorrow. I'm doing really well, but the scale has been stuck for a week solid. Fluctuates 1-2 pounds but won't budge. I'm just ignoring it and moving on with my meal plan and walking. Still only getting about 600-700 calories a day, but getting my 60g of protein and my 50 ounces of water. I returned to work today and brought my food and stuck with my plan. It's going well, but I sure hope the scale moves soon. I feel like my body is not "letting go", you know what I mean? Did this happen to any one else.

On another note, yesterday, I ate too fast and I had pain in my shoulder blade and I think the food was stuck in my throat. I thought I might have to vomit it up, but luckily after about 20 minutes it passed, but it was very uncomfortable. Not doing that again. Let me know if anyone else has had a stuck scale for the second week post-op. Love this website!
  11. I'm one week out tomorrow. I've been doing so well, but today I had grits for breakfast and then went for a walk. My stomach started hurting, just some mild pain when I took a deep breath. Thought maybe the grits were too thick. Feeling slightly better several hours later and have kept to liquids only since then. Has anyone else experienced this? If I still have pain I'm calling the doctor tomorrow.

Hi Thanks for reaching out. Yes it's been a little bit of a struggle for me with fluids. Protein has been easier. I try to have 1 premier protein shake sometimes 2. They are 30grams for 11oz and taste good. Have you tried them? How are you feeling physically?
  13. Day 5 of the liver reduction diet and I'm hanging in here surprisingly well. Just feel kind of tired. I have been walking on my treadmill 1 mile everynight which takes about 25-27 minutes when I started and now it only takes me 22 minutes, so that's an improvement. Half way down. I keep re-reading all my literature that I got from the nutritionist and feeling very comfortable with what I need to do. This morning I weighed 299.9.

Need some help and motivation with my scale no longer moving in the down direction!

by Romandona on 02-21-2018 at 10:03 AM
It will be two years mid March that I was sleeved. I feel great compared to where I was. I lost a total of 100 pounds as of today. as of a month ago it was 110 and I'm slowing creeping back up. I'm scared.

I want to lose another 60 pounds as my bmi is still not in the normal range. Has anyone ever reset their pouch and started to try to lose again when your body has already found a comfortable place?

I need help and guidance from anyone that's been through this. I

Started at 310
Pre-op diet, lost 17

My first restaurant dinner out

by Romandona on 04-25-2016 at 10:08 AM
So Saturday evening we went to dinner with some friends. I was nervous but I did great. I checked them menu ahead of time and planned what I was going to order. I didn't share my "sleeve" with some of these people as some are business friends.

I didn't miss the alcohol and only had water, just tiny sips. There were some appetizers ordered to share. Most of which I could not eat, but my husband ordered braised pork belly. I had two small bites and chewed very well.
