    OK So, I am 6 days post op. The good news, I have lost 10 lbs. But mt Dr. talked me into having open surgery as opposed to laproscopic. Now I have a HUGE incision and part of it is infected. I am in pain, but can't stand the way pain medicine makes me feel. Pray every night to feel "normal" the next day. No luck yet!

I am a misssionary living in Guatemala city, Guatemala. I had my surgery here. I have three grown kids, 25, 22, and 20. My husband is retired Navy. While he was active duty we lived in Italy for 7 years. I work as an aide to a girl with special needs in kindergarten, and I volunteer at an orphanage.

I am 12 weeks today. Got on the scale and I have lost 46 lbs. Just 4 more lbs. till I reach the 1/2 way to my goal weight! I am feeling pretty good! I even went on a week and 1/2 vacation, and still managed to loose. Pretty happy!

Tomorrow is the day!

So, my surgery is tomorrow morning at 9am. A little nervous! My biggest concern is having this in a Guatemalan hospital, and not being able to speak Spanish very well. But a Guatemalan friend is going with me, so that gives me some comfort. Here's to a whole new life!
