Well I'm Scheduled to go back to work the immediate Monday after I get back on a Saturday. Should be interesting. To say the least. Can't take a whole lot of time off. At least the bathroom isn't that far from my office. Lol

I am so happy I saw your post about Dr. Hernandez. My surgery is for June 15th. I couldn't find much if anything on him so I was nervous!! Any advice? I hope you are doing good and feeling well. Thanks so much for your post.
  5. He was great I have no complications to date. Good luck and make sure you follow your pre op diet.

@shymamichula - What hospital was your surgery at and how many days were you there total in Mexico? I'm trying to do the procedure and then go back to work. I just need to know how long I have to take off to be in MX.
  8. That's good, I am really nervous. I guess because I haven't really heard much about him.
  9. He's a great doctor I even met Dr Almanza and took pictures with him.
  10. Ok, Thank you I am really excited. is he a good doctor?
  11. No just pack the things that WLA sent you everything should be fine. Good luck and God bless
  12. Hi, I will be having surgery with Dr. Marcelo Hernandez next month is there anything else I should do?
  13. I want to let you guys know that I was sleeved by Dr Hernandez in Mexico yesterday. I'm walking and drinking liquids now tomorrow they start me on hot drinks. From my personal experience all went extremely well. My only advise is that you follow a liquid pre-op diet my roommate was so sick vomiting all night long because she stated that she did not have to be on a diet. I had very little vomiting and I was able to sleep through the night. I don't feel any hunger pains but I make sure my liquids get in I do not want to go in to the hospital for dehydration. Good luck to all that are having the sleeve. It is a life changing experience.

55 Pounds down and 75 to go

by shymamichula on 09-19-2016 at 10:43 AM
I would have never imagined in a million how easily this weight is just falling off of me!! OMG I already had to buy new clothes and all my friends and coworkers are noticing how good I'm looking. There are days that are tough but when you see how much is coming off you kind of pat yourself on your back. The proof is in the scale and the inches that are forming your new body.

4 weeks post op

by shymamichula on 05-26-2016 at 12:26 PM
Its that time where I can eat anything I want now. So happy!! I've already made chicken parm with spaghetti squash and garlic shrimp in avocado. I also make salted Pollock with potatoes and eggs and onions with olive oil and vinegar. So good the only thing is you cant eat too much your small stomach wont let you. It's doing exactly what is supposed to do. So you have to find out what recipes are protein packed and go from there. I can't do the whey protein it sits on top of whatever I try to mix

Better than Gas X

by shymamichula on 05-02-2016 at 09:36 AM
I am a puerto rican and I remember something my grandmother used to make for my babies when they had gas. It's ginger star anis and honey. The best relief after a VSG. I can only get down a quarter of a cup but it keeps me from waking up in pain because of gas in the middle of the night. Naturally check with your doctor first. I hope this helps someone.
