Pam, I just saw your comment on my May 2016 group post. I am so sorry that you are going through all that! My heart and prayers are with you, your family and your community! xoxoxo

Definitely nothing wrong with meat and vegs, but when it is just meat/vegetables it is not sustainable because eventually it feels restrictive and it can lead to disordered eating, thoughts and behaviors for me. I have been there plenty of times.

I cannot say if I am "cured" from my food compulsive disorder or addictive food behaviors, and I do have to watch out for it. But I have to find a medium I can live with the rest of my life.

So far, I can tell you that I was hoping to do the elimination diet (detoxification) that the Bulletproof Diet (a moderation of Paleo and Keto with an emphasis on eating anti-inflammatory foods) for the 14 days it suggests, but now that I'm back home with my partner in Texas, doing the intermittent fasting can only be done when he is at work. He is pretty healthy so he doesn't need to watch everything he eats like I do. Though he is super supportive of me, I cannot subject him to the restrictiveness, we have been living apart these past few months and wants to go checkout all the new restaurants. We are doing a lot of travel for the next six weeks so that in itself is going to be a challenge.

I hope I don't screw myself up by having started something I won't completely follow 100%.

I took the plunge! Officially did my first Bulletproof Intermittent Fast today!!!

I bought the book, read/highleted/penciled notes and finished it late last night. I will give it my all even though it goes against all my reasoning and beliefs about a balanced dietary lifestyle. Maybe I do have autoimmune deficiencies that I'm not even aware of, this will help eliminate a lot of foods and if I start losing weight again I might go see a specialist.

Pam, where did you learn about KETO? Honestly, I have been reading different sources and it just doesn't make sense. What did a week of eating keto look like for you???

    Did you prepare meals ahead?

I have several nonsleeved friends that follow, but I feel some sort of way asking them.

Hey Pam, my discipline will be in Social Work with a focus in public policy and organizational development. I applied for a dual-degree MSW/MPA program so I am still waiting to hear from USC's Price School of Public Policy. If I only get-in in one there is a great possibility that I will apply to change it into a doctorate program so I can still pursue my academic/career goals.

Hi Pam, hope all ok at your end, just wanted to ask why you are avoiding fruit, I had a homemade pancake the other day at my friends house with fresh fruit salad, tiny tea spoon of whipped cream, I spent the rest of the afternoon in the bathroom feeling like rubbish, very tired and washed out, probably the carbs in the pancake but then I remembered what you said about fruit, its the most fruit I have eaten since surgery, sadly this week hasn't been good for the head hunger, never feel full, had some crisps as well which isn't a great thing to do for me. I had the barium meal and allis well in that department, they are trying to decide if a camera investigation is needed, I can tell them its not needed, I feel like I am eating all the time, again a big no no for me, I think I need a councillor. let me know how you are doing

Survived vacay!

by Pam G on 08-02-2017 at 03:15 PM
I never thought I would utter these words....not in a million years, but....

IT FEELS GREAT TO NOT BE EATING SO MUCH! Hahaha!

Got home from back to back family trips yesterday, and I thought for sure I'd gained at least 5 lbs. Turns out it was just shy of 5, so I took a diuretuc, a nap, and woke up 2 lbs lighter! Heehee!

But the weirdest thing is that It feels wonderful to not have to constantly think about and eat food now that I'm home. I've always

for some reason, the site won't let me answer your question to me, so here's my answer:

I learned about Keto by just googling and being on one of the keto fb pages. there's guy that is a keto guru, Ben McDonald, that does very informative podcasts, here's the first one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX4r6fHy1bc

there's a couple of women on here that do the LCHF lifestyle, too.

It means no fruits/nuts or carbs of any kind....even the good ones (at least for
