hi! so your almost 7 years out?! That's great! I'm 3 years out. I lost too much weight but now I'm at my goal weight and am just hanging around here. I'm curious, do you still have restriction from your sleeve? I do for eating amounts but I have no issues with eating or drinking anything. I have to be careful not to fall back to old habits.
    Hope your doing well!

Thank you for your reply. I like your perspective. I am happy to be going to the "Losers Bench"

    Aww! You are too kind!

I know exactly what you mean, I found it irritating since newly sleeved.

I'm taking one day at a time, that's about the best I can do.

    Xoxoxo

Thank you. But I miss YOU! I know you have a new gig and that you must be working hard at it. I'd love to hear how it's going for you.

And I really should chime up more on the daily menus thread. But my life here is pretty busy, too -- I retired! Yup, what they all say is true: When you retire, you wonder how you ever had time to work.

Maintaining still at 135 pounds. Jeez! I never thought it would be so easy. Not that I don't plan my ass off (you know me). But I've never maintained any weight loss for a year.

Did I already say I think this surgery is a freakin' miracle?!?!

    Thanks for sayin hi.

Hi diane, yea, got the job and bet you are a real asset. Good to hear from you and i agree about this site, drives me crazy some times, not what it used to be. I still check it in the hopes that there are one or two who can use the support. Also for me. I am still out here on my own so it does have a bit of focus power for me.

I do not do social network. Seems strange to still wake up every day with the sleeve on my mind. Better than the alternative though.

I give up with the saggy stuff, helps that i am the only one who sees it. I'm ok in clothes just have one wish to get rid of the apron. It's not too bad, doesn't hang down to my knees or anything just makes it harder to wear certain clothes that i like. Spanx just makes it worse. I can live with it.

You take care, keep up the great work. Bye dear friend joanne

Hi gal, well here i am 4 years old. Want to thank you for the support, advice and inspiration you have given over the years.
Hope you are well and wondering if you got that job.
It is always good to share so lets keep it up. There are so many that have disappeared over the years and i hope they are doing ok.
(wish i could remember your name) please remind me.
    Love ya joanne
  10. I am so glad you reached out and I always smile when I see you still respond to some of the posts. The people are kind of "strange". Too much drama for me these days, guess I'm getting old.
I find maintenance a challenge sometimes, but it's easier to lose the 5 lbs. that I might gain as opposed to the 145 I already lost...lol... It's kind of interesting to see how well I can do, so I make it a challenge. Still loving the "thinner life." Health is still improved, love shopping, and I'm all involved in my local bariatric program.

Trying to get a new job at the local hospital in the bariatric department, been waiting for this job for 2 years; but it looks promising. I'll be 66 in March so I'll begin collecting my social security and hope to keep working; who knows maybe hubby and I will visit Canada and look you up!! Wouldn't that be a fun time!!

You are thin, and I love hearing that from people. It's still amazing when I look at myself (especially naked) that I am thin, because I want to hit the lottery and have some plastic surgery on the belly, and boobies...lol...

Take care and reach out anytime the desire is there, love hearing from you...

Wow amazing pic.glamour or what! How are you doing? Things sure have changed on our support site, I sure miss it. Good to know that you are still out there doing your thing.
I really need to update my pic. I ws 180 when it was taken.

I am doing OK not qs easy as early days but still working for me. I have never maintained this well before. For me this the biggest bonus. \how about you.

I was told today that I was lucky that I was so thin.....what...who are they talking to? Still do not see me s that person. Oh my. I am so grateful for my sleeve.

You take care and keep in touch. Ciao Joanne
  12. OMG!!! Who would have thought....lol... I love this site and have used it since before surgery I even made some "friends" with whom I still keep in contact. One lady lives in Canada! We used to have a small group of posters on "What's On Your Menu" and it used to be like sitting around the kitchen table talking. Welcome, and I hope you get something from using this site. How are things?

Nice to see a familiar face on here! Can't believe our user names are so similar too! I'm new on the the site so don't know how to add a friend. Add me if you'd like. Figured since we are FB friends and sleeve sisters it would be ok! Hope to see you soon! Karen

Where Is Everyone...

by jerzeygirl on 10-23-2019 at 01:51 PM
I've been on this site for over 8 years and always used it for great information, motivation, fun and making new "virtual" friends. However lately I noticed that many people haven't posted and fortunately, some of the veterans have stayed around which is great I'm wondering why the drop-off of folks and whether or not they'll be back. I'm the first one to recognize that life is busy but it seems many of us took a little time to pose our questions, answer some of the newbies and come

Happy Thanksgiving!

by jerzeygirl on 11-21-2018 at 09:32 AM
I hope everyone, no matter where you are in the journey, has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I remember the first holiday after surgery, I was so scared about what to eat, not to eat, it drove me crazy. Now, I'm a little older and would like to think wiser, and will enjoy the company, tastes of food; including dessert and just have a "mindful" holiday. I'm going to the shore and will try to get in a walk on the beach weather permitting. I'm actually going to a "vegan" Thanksgiving

"My Life Began Post Surgery"

by jerzeygirl on 08-01-2017 at 12:18 PM
Well, I missed my actual surgiversary date as it was on July 21st. I'm now 6 years post op and life has never been better! I'm maintaining the loss, exercise is a welcome addition to each day and I have an amazing job working in the bariatric surgery department of the hospital where I had my personal surgery...what more could a girl ask for...
I still come on this site and read posts from "newbies" who are afraid they won't lose, not losing enough, stalling, etc. My only words

"Paying it Forward"

by jerzeygirl on 03-02-2016 at 12:28 PM
As some users of this site might know, I've been an active member of my local bariatric community for the last few years since surgery. I facilitate the local hospital support groups, organized and managed the fashion shows in our local mall in conjunction with my surgeon's office and the hospital, and have many dear friends whom I now call my "sleeve family." I've also had a vision of working professionally within the bariatric center where I had my surgery. I sent the appropriate

Happy Holidays

by jerzeygirl on 12-24-2015 at 09:46 AM
I just wanted to take a moment and wish everyone a healthy, happy holiday. No matter what holiday you celebrate, may you celebrate the "new you" that you either are now or are becoming through the weight loss surgery. Although the holidays are usually associated with lots of yummy food, the new me has been able to celebrate in a different way. I tend to enjoy the company, surroundings, and conversation more; since I'm not pre-occupied with the goodies. Although I will be tasting different
