  1. Hi Densol -- yes definitely is good value & being local counts for a lot.
I will think about it over next few months & come to a decision.
I wish you well on your journey & hope your stall has ended/ends soon.
    Take care,
    Mel

    Hi

I used to drink LOTS of wine before my op ( I stopped on 1st Jan ) - I dont avoid social at all as I just drink soft drinks ( its so easy to be able to drive there !) I will eventually have the odd glass of red wine again - Im not worried about addictions lol ( I think thats an American thing ) - I just liked big meals rather than snacks, so the sleeve will just reduce those lol. My surgery was £8000 all in including all return visits. I thought that was great value. Im not sure what time on the 5th. Im up there on Sat for my month post op visit so will find out :-) and let you know. I think these things can be over thinked - Im usually an over thinker. Its taken me more thought to choose a workman to do my drive than have the surgery ! Lol
  3. Hi Densol,
Sounds like a good way to do it! I am now overthinking it! I also have trouble maintaining -- I'm all or nothing. They recommend not drinking for first year because of transfer addiction Are you avoiding social situations at the moment?
I'm sure when scales start moving again, it'll be another fast drop. Do you mind me asking how much they charged? Op with SS was going to be £11.5k.
What time is the meeting on 5th?
    Many thanks.

    Hi Mel

Lots of people have done loads of research on surgeons and usually " research" is my middle name. But not this time! I had been loosely thinking about WLS for ages without any effort to speak to my GP. I did ask once in 2014 and got the usual eat less/ gym talk - yet Id lost 140lb before but put back 100. My problem was maintaining. I was also waiting on a decision for an injury benefit from my old work which caused me lots of stress and reason for most recent weight gain ( in addition to being greedy) anyway in Dec, I was told it had been awarded and a little back pay owed. Bang ! - on 15th Dec I called the "spire " and got appointment with Mr Mannur on 19th Dec. I didn't even know about the sleeve ! Soon as they explained I said yes and booked it in for 16th Jan. Was happy with the research I did on Mr Mannur and he is ever so nice. Had the surgery before I could " talk " myself out of it so pleased I've had it done.
I'm in a stall at the moment, just waiting for the scale to start dropping again !
I'm not drinking wine either and my grocery bill is soooo cheap !
I think they have their quarterly support meeting on Sat 5th March at the Spire - why not call and see if you can go along?
