    Hey girl how are you?

You've lost fifty pounds in two months! That is so amazing sister!! You inspire me to keep positive that this works. I've seen a lot of people who are posting that they've stopped losing for long periods of time. The only thing I can think of is they are still eating poorly. I'm trying hard to keep fast food out of my mind. But seeing you lose so much in a short amount of time makes me smile!

I'm very excited to apply for the school soon! I did research and xray techs make roughly what a nurse does it seems. And they aren't on call, which is important since I'm a mom. I'm used to making $14,000 or so a year so $40,000 - $80,000 would be amazing!
I find that a lot of people jump right the surgery without doing any research and those are typically the people who freak out and have a lot of negative things to say for the first couple of months.

It's a 15 month course that starts next fall. So far away! I suppose I ought to start studying the bones and muscles again I did great when I took intro to anatomy and physiology last year. I was less than a point away from an A!

Oh cool! I'm hoping to go to school here to become a combination of xray medical technician-medical assistant. So losing all of this weight will definitely help with my future scrub choices! I actually know 2 people personally who had this surgery. One had it last year in January and the other had her surgery when I was out on maternity leave in 2014. The one who had it in 2014 was a woman I recommended it to and she went from weighing 300+ pound to 170. She's about 6 ft tall so she's at the perfect weight. A very active woman! The other who is almost a year post op has done well too, but she doesn't really exercise like my other friend so though she started at 280 or so pounds, she still weighs over 200 pounds and is around my height of 5'5". Anyway I still have 2 bags of clothes to fit into so thankfully, I won't have to spend money on clothes soon!

I fit into the 2nd airplane when we moved earlier this month so that was a great NSV for me! I can't wait to fit into roller coasters and water slides!!!

I'm doing better, thank you so much for asking. I had a rough week last week and now I'm just trying to sort this all out. Doesn't stop the mind from wanting junk that's for sure!

I'm glad that someone thought to start a September group. It's nice talking to someone going through this at the same time as myself! I get a little sad/disappointed when I think of all of the amazing people who started on this website around the time I did and how they haven't been on in years. It was neat watching their progress and learning from their experiences. But now I can actually ride the rollercoaster vs just standing in line
How is your weight loss going? I think I might actually go down my first jean size in December! At the start of my journey in March I was wearing size 5 t-shirts and 26/28 jeans. UGH. I still wear 4 and 5x shirts, but the size 4 are comfortable now and the 5s are like tents, but I'm not quite at the point where I need to get rid of them. I figure this is progress, because back in March my clothes were TIGHT. I was like, "That's it!" Seriously! I already shop at speality stores like Lane Bryant and just barely fit into their biggest size. There's no way I'm going to go through life having to go to a specialty store of specialty stores. Nope. Can't afford it and I hate being the biggest person in a room. I couldn't even walk a block without being winded and knew my baby would start walking soon so obviously I needed waaaaay more energy. Thankfully, my energy is much better now with room for improvement. But at least I'll be around to see my son grow up. And I'm not a diabetic anymore!

Oh yes it's very pretty here! I enjoy seeing the mountains. I'm doing good. I'm two months post op as of yesterday the 22nd! I lost 41 pounds before my surgery and 38 pounds since my surgery. I made a post on my September page about being bummed at my weigh in yesterday, but now that I'm actually doing the math I realize that I sounded like a idiot! I've never lost 38 pounds in 2 months! It took me 6 months to lose 41 and I had to work really hard to do it. Alright I'm happy now. And embarrassed, but still!

Oh I bought a $8, $9 Brita sports bottle at Walmart that holds 20oz so I fill that up a few times a day. I even keep it next to my bed at night and sip out of it when I wake up thirsty. It's really made a huge difference in my water intake!

I really need to get back on the exercise wagon. I took my toddler for a walk yesterday and was pooped. I went from easily walking 2-3 miles at a time with him all summer to being pooped after a 1/2 mile - 1 mile walk that was uphill for a short portion. Ugh! I have the 21 day fix DVD's still from when I bought them at the beginning of this year so I'm thinking about getting up at 7, 7:30am so I can accomplish my exercise goal before my son wakes up... Otherwise I am NOT likely to do anything other than short walks. And the 21 day fix DVD's kick my butt big time lmao. It was nice hearing back from you!

I remember when I woke up in the middle of the night, went to the refridgerator and got some chicken out. Started eating it like I used to, not thinking and ate it FAST. Omgosh I got so sick and it was stuck. It was winter time and I went to Meijer at midnight to get some Adolps meat tenderizer. It worked. My nutrientist said that would become my best friend and it is. When something gets stuck, that is what I use. Puree time is good just really watch and eat slow, chew well when you start eating whole food.

    Hi Davis,

I'm doing pretty good. I'm not really tired during the day but I do have to go to bed early. I've been going to bed by 9 or 10 pm which is early for me. If I don't, I'm exhausted all the next day. I dont' know if it's the small amount of calories I eat per day or if my body is still recovering from surgery. It was good to hear from you.

One year mark!

by Davis165 on 09-26-2016 at 03:13 AM
I'm waiting for Payitforward to correct me on this! It has been almost 12 wonderful months since I underwent a surgery that forever changed my life. I have as of this date 09/26/2016 lost 137 pounds, 12 of those are from the two week diet pre surgery. So 125 pounds in a year, give or take a few days to a week. I haven't reached onederland, as of yet, but I'm working VERY hard to get to and maintain my goal. Do I know what my goal is? Well, it says 165 on my ticket, but who knows what it'll

Got a compliment ..kind of.

by Davis165 on 04-10-2016 at 05:32 PM
I was at work the other night, just about to go on my break when the patient I was with noticed me getting all of my things ready for break. I walk during my breaks and was getting my phone out, for music and my headphones. The patient asked me if I was going to exercise, to which I said yes. They said how much weight did I want to lose. I said about 80 pounds. They looked at me and said, I doubt that you have 80 pounds to lose, maybe 50, more like 40. Now, to someone else their comment may have

Fainting anyone??

by Davis165 on 03-21-2016 at 03:44 AM
My surgery, recovery and in general, life post-op, has been good. Until recently. I fainted at work about a week ago. I had been feeling a bit odd at work and needed to sit down or I knew that I may fall down. I knew something just wasn't right. That happened earlier in that week. Later in that same week I experienced the same sensations, yet didn't have the opportunity to sit and rest/regroup. All I remember is saying that I needed to sit down and then waking up on the floor! I was so confused,

Going to the gym...with this body.

by Davis165 on 01-05-2016 at 10:21 AM
I am fortunate enough to have an opportunity to join a rather nice gym, it's connected to the school that I'm attending. The only draw back is the view I have of myself. The facility is very nice and I am so thrilled to be able to go. It is right next to my job, making it easy to get my workout done right after work, which is great! My issue is walking into the gym and just generally being there with other people who have zero body image issues. I feel like the biggest person in the place!! It is

The head games have started!!

by Davis165 on 12-14-2015 at 11:18 PM
I'm now 79 days or two and a little over half a month out from surgery. My loss is at 60 lbs now and I'm pleased with that. What I've come against now are the munchie mind games. I'm realizing that the head games are a beast to defeat..they are able to be taken down, I know, but the battle is messy and real. What brought me to this decision to have surgery was the fact that my weight was careening out of control. I was mindlessly eating copious amounts of food. I NEVER want to go back there!! So,
