Hey Julia! thank you for thinking about me on surgery day! those two days and a half spent vomiting have been really hard and your poor friend must have been feeling awful to have to go and come back! I actually asked my husband not to bring the kids those days to visit me because I looked and felt awful, plus I was vomiting blood and I didn't want to scare them! my doctor was clear that we needed to control the vomiting before I left, and after six days in hospital I couldn't wait to leave (hard bed!) but yesterday he started to say it was too cold outside for me to go back home, he was worried I would get sick, I said I'm used to the cold, no worries! Today a friend made some chicken broth for me, with special Chinese herbs to help with healing, she is so sweet, I was actually able to drink two cups of it, which is great, I'm still low in liquids. I looked into your great idea of flavor drops, never saw it here and it seems that they are not allowed in Taiwan (they have complicated rules, my sunscreen is stuck in customs right now...) but if you have spare bottles you won't use, may be I can try it in March, (or I will just get a few Trader Joe's, I miss that store so much!!), I'll be staying one month in Phoenix, hopefully we can meet! take care!

Hi Julia, thanks for your message! I had a few bad days with headaches and feeling sluggish but feeling finally better today! I just started to add the PB2 yesterday (finally got my package it was stuck somewhere in customs) so may be the extra protein is helping! I did contact my nutritionist with questions but she doesn't tell me the same things that the bariatric nurse was telling me last week so it's quiet confusing, I think a lot got lost in translation. Anyway, since I've been reading so much I kind of of improvised and it seems to work. I'll enter the hospital in 9 days now so it's coming fast, I'm trying to prepare things as much in advance as possible since I will be five days away. The most difficult thing over there for the first two days (during pre-op exams) will probably be the hospital bed, all beds are hard in Asia, I will not sleep for sure...thanks for checking on me! take care!

7 Days Post Op

by moonchild on 01-06-2016 at 03:07 PM
My incisions feel much better! Now, I just have the sensation of sore abs as if I've done some majorly intense crunches. It's even hard to imagine how painful it was right after surgery and it was just a week ago. I have a bit of a cough left over from getting a respiratory infection days before surgery so anytime I cough or laugh I get that terrible stabbing pain in the large incision. But, that is few and far between but don't tell me any jokes lol. The incisions look great and I can't wait to

Two days post op

by moonchild on 12-31-2015 at 08:54 PM
My surgery was done at my drs surgery center on 12/29. He performs sleeves on an outpatient basis but he had me admitted to the hospital a few hours after surgery due to dehydration. I had terrible diarrhea and day before surgery from all the antibiotics they had me on plus clear liquid diet and I just couldn't catch up with my water intake. I was so dehydrated prior to surgery that they could not find a good vein to start the IV with. It took five tries, yes, poking me five times in different places,

One day away...

by moonchild on 12-28-2015 at 01:11 AM
Surprisingly, I feel more excited than nervous, mostly because my dearest friend at work just got sleeved in October so I know what to expect and I have her as a soundboard for all my fears. I'm really lucky to have her. Originally, I was going to go to Tijuana but backed out at the last minute. I'm a very private person and so is my work friend but somehow she ended up telling me she was going through the pre-approval process for the gastric sleeve and I told her about going to Mexico. Since we
