Buffy! That is great on the approval. The states and covered will be much better. But I am so happy with what I have done. I feel wonderful... so much more energy, and today for the first time in 4 years, I am in my "skinny jeans"!! I am thrilled. By summer I will need to empy and refill my closet, and I can't wait. My doctor here is so thrilled... my cholesterol is down 100 points to 120!!! and my bp runs 115/70!! I am like a 20 year old kid again, and I feel so damn good! You will not regret one thing about this. Best wishes and June will get her soon enough... in the meantime, get in lots of protein, exercise and lose as much as you can presurgery and you will do all the better

Hey Buffy! Did you have yours? I went with Garcia Govea in TJ, Mexico. It was $4600, and it was in a hospital for 3 days (Mi Hospital). They were fantastic!! Hope you had great holidays. For the first time ever I lost weight over the holidays... 3lbs in all just for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! 5lb loss for the week of Christmas! I ate whatever I wanted, totally enjoyed it! Of course i can eat so little that i got to really only taste things. But that is the beauty of it. I did not feel denied or like a gluttonous pig! Let me know how you are doing and what is up with your surgery! I had surgery with KoKo Chestnut and QTPatootie. Same time, same place. It was great meeting them.

My surgery was done by Dr. Rajajoshiwala (Dr. Raja ) and it cost about 16 thousand...

I'm getting pretty excited, and that's great because earlier, I was just nervous. BTW, let me say, I think Dr. Almanza is fantastic. I would have loved him as my surgeon. It was not the surgeon or the staff or anything about the Almanza experience. Based on what I know and researched, this is a great group! Again, this was about my need to be in a hospital monitored for a couple of days due to my high BMI of 50 and my fear of anesthesia and bad reactions i have had in the past with spinal taps.

Hey Buffy! where you been.... You are going to hate me now!!! I have changed surgeons. I am going to Garcia Govea. My BMI is high... 50, and I want to be in a hospital. He will keep me in a hospital for 2 nights and then a nice hotel 2 blocks from the hospital so he can see me. He and his wife are picking me up at the airport and bringing me back as well. They called me last night. I have spoken to him and his wife (who is also a dr. and one of the other doctors in their office). So, I am sorry, but I was too nervous because of my high risk to only do in the clinic and not have any real doctor contract other than the surgery. I hope you understand. I don't know what truly happened that I am not a bundle of nerves any more... it seems to be my mind set has changed to imagining the future and what it can and will be... and getting it in my head, i just really have no options any more...

Buffy, I AM READY!! mentally... physically, i still have some balloons to blow, some walking to do and some changes to make! Loading up on the stuff we will need post op and working on changing some behaviors now, so i don't have shell shock when it is all said and done. Well looks like KoKo and QT are heading down to TJ, but to a different doc. I couldn't find much out about him out there. I am still going with Almanza. I really like what i have found about him. I'm with you... I am over this fat!

Hey Buffy! Im so sorry to hear about the cancer, hopefully they can get it cleaned out and you and your thinner, healthy self will be perfect! I wanted to let you know that i have change surgeons. My boyfriends cousin is an Orthopedic surgeon in TJ who has a friend (Dr. Garcia Govea) who does bariatric surgery...he has a package similar to Almanza...he operates out of 2 hospitals in TJ and 1 in Rosarito...my boyfriends cousin said he had heard good things about Almanza but has not met him...he knows Dr. Garcia and has seen him operate, he highly recommends him. Koko and I are hoping to get surgery on 11/14. Maybe we can still hook up! Congratulations on the newest addition to your family tree! I love babies!!!
I have not started dieting yet. I have bought two types of protein powders...it is time I start making lists and getting things ready November will be here before you know it! Yippie Skippy!

I really was worried, but so understand the busy racket... me and KoKo been getting things prepared... ordering foods, proteins, some comfy clothes for the trip and stay, and all that stuff. And while I selfishly want KoKo with us, I do pray she can get quick approval so she can save the buckaroos on her surgery... but like I told her... won't break my heart if I hear "hey girlie" coming down the hall day after our surgery!!!! Hey sweeti, well I am glad you are still going to do the surgery, what do they plan on doing about your lymph nodes? take care of yourself first and foremost. after ur surgery your diabetes is going to disappear. you had everyone worried girly. So the other day I got approved through my insurance, I have kaiser but that is 6 months of classes first then seeing the bariatric surgeon, yikes I so dont wanna wait that long. write Ronnie back, she is very worried also.
