Hi Neaty! I just reached the 11 week mark and I'm just now reaching the point when I have enough energy to start exercising. 3 days ago, I got it in my head to take the stairs at work. 6 flights! That was a mistake. Legs were literally shaking and quivering! Still, super proud. I really want to start working on my arms to avoid the dreaded "batwings", but for now, I'm gonna start with walking. Eventually, I'll join a gym and get a trainer.

    Good Luck and congratulations!

    Hi Courtney!

sorry for replying so late, was busy with work! don't even have time to relax in front of my PC..
Yes, and now I see I made a mistake of the surgeon's name.. Will correct it, and thank you for pointing this out
I did have surgery at nordbariatric clinic, and my experience all in all was good, apart from the phase during my stay where I was doing nothing, and of course, the dreadful gastroscopy. What's more, my surgeon came an hour late to the consultation... but I had their team member with me, and I was met at the airport which was already really nice, and I was never left alone in unknown places, so that was reassuring.

To be completely honest, when I woke up from anesthesia, I felt just terrible for three days straight... But then professor almantas had already warned me of this, so I guess I was at least kind of ready for that. as far as I've read, bypass doesnt have such side effects like sleeve.

for me it got better and better but only later on, and I was discharged and spent my time in a hotel room. The wether outside was so warm, and I was just lying on my bed all day long.. when I think about it, wish I had a book then I also wish I had seen more of the city itself , but did not have much energy to do so.

    cheers,
    Christie

Low Carb Pre-op Diet day 15

by neaty521 on 08-14-2015 at 10:06 AM
TMI but luckily the first week and a half of the diet, I was on my monthly lady issue and my cravings were not the worst. I am on birth control and have not had a cycle in months, so when it came back, IT WAS HORRIBLE. It put me off food a bit and the only pain I could focus on was my cramps.

More to the real point of this post:

I always knew I loved carbs, but I did not know it was a full blown addiction. I used to say, that nothing satisfies me like carbohydrates.

Anyone else hate weight loss praise?

by neaty521 on 08-01-2015 at 07:03 PM
So I just realized that being praised for weight loss is embarrassing and insulting. It has always made me really uncomfortable but I never explored my feelings as to why until recently gaining a lot of my weight back.

I always said thank you, but what I hear is "oh thank God you lost that weight, you looked horrible". I know I cant be the only pessimist feeling this way?

Surgery Date Finally!

by neaty521 on 07-17-2015 at 09:36 AM
So this is my first blog post and I am very excited to say that I now have a surgery date!

My starting weight was 320 and I was told to lose 10kg, so about 22 pounds. I am currently at 312 after about two weeks of trying. I am most certain most of it was water weight, but its a good start. I have 1.5 months to go and I have about 14 pounds to go! Oh dear...I am sure I will be able to get it off since my starting weight is extremely high.

I started a Vlog I plan to
