I never reserved my hotel room, that was taken care of by weight loss agents. Once you arrive at the hospital they will do pre-op, they drive you direct to the hotel and you simply give them your name sign in and they will assign you a room. things to bring, would be a pillow, towel and washcloth as the ones at the hotel are a little scratchy and there are not enough pillows to make you comfortable after the surgery. I brought bouillon and was glad because I hated the broth they provided. Good luck everything is pretty organized and the nurses and drivers are very sweet.

    Not much longer now!
  5. Today I was watching my husband play in his band at a community event. I had invited my parents and my mother-in-law to come with us then to our house for a Mother's Day dinner afterwards. My husband was sleeved a year ago this month, and he has had amazing success. My dad and I were talking about that, and he made a comment (trying to be funny) about me weighing more than my husband now. This really hurt my feelings. My dad routinely makes fun of people for their weight - and it's only been recently that he's done this about me. I've been overweight since kindergarten (at least that's when I first noticed), so it's not as if I've just recently put on weight. He's a large man himself, and apparently he feels this gives him the right to make fun of people. Today was the worst it's hurt, and I've been trying to figure out exactly why it hurt so badly today, and I think it is because I am planning to have the surgery. I've got a date scheduled. I've bought the plane tickets, my leave from work is approved, and my parents know and are supportive of it - so it was the wrong time to have him be a jerk.
Thankfully my husband is amazing and clearly loves me regardless. I was with him when he had his surgery, and I know he will be there for me through my experience.

NOT ENJOYING THIS part. At all. Thinking of the protein shakes makes me nauseated. . . have not cheated, but quite miserable.

Decided to try doing a day of Pre-Op Diet

by mcobara on 04-28-2015 at 02:31 PM
Just to kind of test the water, today I am focusing on doing a day of liquids only (will have some kind of solid protein for dinner) to see how difficult it will be once I "have" to do the 5-day liquids only my surgeon requires. . .

Here we go!

by mcobara on 04-27-2015 at 08:45 AM
Trying to get over the nervousness of the whole idea and get excited about life changing!
My husband had the surgery last summer, and he has done so well with it! I'm excited to see the same changes in myself - and for him to get to see those changes as well.
