Thank you! And I know how hard it is with the smell/taste issue. It's nice to get suggestions from others, but it's so hard when you can smell ALL the layers of things! I told my doctor that it was like I had a dog's nose. I think it was my body's way of protecting itself while healing. My doctor couldn't explsin why it was so pronounced with me. I suppose I'll never know. It was awful though. The smell of my new car made me nauseous! The smell of cooking rice made me throw up. I couldn't pump my own gas. The only things I could eat were Jello and popsicles. Don't beat yourself up or stress about it. Folks who haven't experienced this themselves mean well. My husband couldn't understand it either and wiuld try to make suggestions for what to eat. I'm sure I didn't get much protein in the first month. Isopure drinks were alright but I had to force myself. Too much and the chest pain was awful. Just know that you're not alone! Staying hydrated is the main thing. My doctor told me to do what I could and to relax. It was good advice that helped me make it through. It's easy to get discouraged about not meeting your goals. Not worth it. You're doing great to get down what you can. You may want to check-in with your surgeon do that they have a record of your symptoms and can provide any advice.

by Gurlnxd00r on 03-30-2015 at 08:45 PM
Well 24 days post op, still feel very blessed to have had the surgery, that wont change. However am struggling and not sure what to do. Nothing really taste good and things ive been eating i cant stomach at all. Protein shake powder makes me want to vomit. My new superpower is sense of smell, very acute and most things not so pleasant. I can only get down 2 oz of anything and then i feel tight in my chest. Im honestly frightened since im really not getting but maybe 20 grams protein and 10

Day 18 ready for a sunny active day

by Gurlnxd00r on 03-24-2015 at 09:33 AM
169 lbs, 2 sizes lost 3 if it werent for my gut lol. Finding it difficult to get in protein, but diet changes today so maybe that will get better. Also difficult to get in fluids especially when working but trying. Have been stalled for a week now but i read that is normal for this stage, as im guessing im done loosing all the surgery fluid excess and now my body needs to adjust to losing fat which is more difficult to shed. But im not complaining, i had retail therapy on sunday and put on and

by Gurlnxd00r on 02-22-2015 at 02:18 PM
Its all decided...airplane ticket purchased, passport will be here any day and surgery scheduled for march 6th with Dr. Camelo in Tijuana Mexico. I am trying not to have food funerals as i tell myself this is my choice and i am so ready but wow a trip thru walmart yesterday was tough lol. It is insane how much my life revolves around food. My new motto is goin to be Eating to live, not living to eat! I like that saying.
