About Aydensmomma
- Sleeved or not sleeved:
- I have had a gastric sleeve.
- Biography:
- I am a mom, I have a 7 yr old son named Ayden...that's where my member name came from....creative, right? I have a 12 yr old daughter Rachael and a 18 yr old step daughter, Liz. I have been overweight most of my life. I remember going to the doctor at 14 years old and being almost 200lbs. My mom was disgusted, she didn't say it but I knew she was. When I was 17 I had school and a full time job, and with little time to snack I lost 70 lbs. I maintained my weight of 150 until I got pregnant when I was 21. I ate for 2, and then some. I gave birth at 220lbs. It took 2 years of diet and exercise and I got my weight down to 130lbs. Maintained that weight until i was 27 and pregnant with my son. I didn't gain as much as my I did with my daughter. I was 180lbs when I left the hospital with my son. In the months following I gained weight. I was diagnosed with post pardum depression and PCOS. I dieted and exercised, I'd loose 10lbs and gain back 15lbs. It's discouraging to do all the work and not get results. My weight climbed up to 255lbs I had a toddler who I couldn't really play with because I couldn't get down on the floor, a 6yr old girl who I couldn't ride bikes with. I was self conscious. Crabby, my back and knees always hurt. I didn't want to go anywhere, I was always dripping with sweat, even sitting still. My clothes consisted of t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants and a pair of jeans. I always made sure there was always ice cream in my freezer and caramel chocolates in my purse.
In April 2014 I ran into a friend who was my size the last time I saw her, she looked great. She lost all the excess weight, and felt great. She told me about the sleeve. That day I started my research and spoke to my husband and told him I wanted to do the sleeve. It was an embarrassing conversation but I'm glad we had it. He agreed to help me out along the way. That day I made my 1st appointment with my surgeon. After 6mo of seeing a dietician and following her diet I lost 8 pounds. Again, discouraging, but if I could loose the weight with diet and exercise (like I had in the past) I wouldn't be getting sleeved. After getting my psych, cardiovascular and pulmonary clearance I was scheduled for surgery 12/30/14. Happy New years!
Surgery went well, but due to the anastasia I was vomiting for 48 hours.
Fast Forward 1 year
Lost 127lbs was size 18/20 pants and now I am size 2
I was 1x or 2x tops, now I'm S or XS
lost a total of 51.5 inches!!
19 months out
I think I'm finally maintaining at 129 pounds.
Still wearing size 2 and small/XS
I love shopping now, I love getting dressed up and looking as good as I feel. I can run around with my kids and dog and not break a sweat. Pre-op I had a migraine 2x a week, now I get them maybe 2x a month, if that. My back and knees no longer hurt. I can squat down and get up easily. I can fit in small places, I can ride all the rides at the amusement park, I can cross my legs comfortably.

It's a great idea to take a picture of yourself the day of your surgery and then using the same clothes and doing the same pose take a pic every 2 weeks. (Or 1 or 4, whatever you want)
Sometimes people say "oh look at you! You lost weight and you look great!" but some of us might not see it because we see ourselves everyday. Comparing pictures is a great way to see the changes, if you ever stall or feel discouraged the pictures might make you feel better.
I also suggest

Hi!
I hope everyone is doing good!
Its great to see so many people taking control of their lives and getting the surgery. One of the best decisions I have ever made. It's been over 4 years now. It's crazy when I go back and think about the beginning. The worst memory's I have were the hair loss, long thick hair turned to thread. The smell, I had such BO, bad breath and stinky pee during ketosis. Deodorant, showers and poo porri handled it. Oh and the irregularity when it came to the

Wow. 4 years!
It's been way too long since I've been on here so for those of you who don't know me, Hi! I'm Teri. I started the process in May 2014. Luckily all I had to pay for was my nuitrionist. Insurance did the rest.
My BMI was right at 40. I was 255lbs at 5'7"
I went in on December 30th 2014 with the hope of waking up skinny (not really, but it would be nice) instead I had the pleasure of waking up feeling like my stomach was moving around in a painful way and vomiting

Hey all!! I haven't posted in a long time! I see a lot of new faces and a lot of people starting this life changing journey. CONGRATS EVERYONE!
I was sleeved about 3.5 years ago. I was 255lbs on the day of surgery. I lost weight really fast. I can't remember exact times but I think after 18mo I got down to 123lbs, at 5'7" I was super skinny, pics in my profile.
I needed to gain. Before gaining I was happy at 150, so I set my goal at 145. I needed to gain 20lbs (never had that

hey all! This doesn't relate exactly to the sleeve but if your outside exercising in the northeast watch out for ticks.
yesterday was 70° here and so I was out in the garden, nothing is growing but their are leaves to move etc
this morning I woke up and my left leg had a spot that feels like a deep cut/bruise. I felt a lump, went into the bathroom and had a little freakout when I saw the tick. a deer tick. last year was bad but I wasn't expecting to find ticks in February
So
