About Shandy
- Sleeved or not sleeved:
- I have had a gastric sleeve.
- Biography:
- Married with two girls. One is 26 yrs and the other 14 years. I have always been a very small frame weighing around 52 - 55 kg until the last 5 years. Just let myself go with stress of work and drinking too much with no exercise. I can't believe that at one stage after having my first child I had to go and see a specialist to try to help me put on weight because I was around 46 kg. My how times can change. I am the happiest I have been in a long time having this surgery is the best thing I could have done.I had diabetes, high blood pressure and heart palpitations that have all stopped after losing 18kg. I look at some very overweight people now though and feel for them knowing that their lives could be so much better if they were able to have gastric sleeve. Unfortunately the cost is so high it is not an option for all.

This may sound like a silly question to some, but I have had people ask me and I don't know the answer.
I have just lost 20 kg in three months. Where did the fat actually go to?
(my friend thinks it landed on her) But seriously it doesn't evaporate, it doesn't go down the toilet because I'm constipated all the time and I haven't burnt it through energy because I have none and I have not exercised at all yet. Any one know?

Well I have been dying for a steak for so long. Two weeks ago I was that desperate for just a taste, I had a huge bite of my husbands T Bone steak chewed it up and spat it out. Boy that felt good. I told my dietitian about it and she laughed she said that she had just had another woman in before me who said she cooks steak and then sucks all the juice out of it before throwing it out lol. But last night because i'm over four weeks post op I thought I would try a very tender small scotch fillet steak
