hi! you were sleeved almost a month before me :-)
I see you lost fast too. I went from 255 fat of surgery, 12/30/14, lost down to 140 in 9 months, by 18mo I was down to the 120's and at 5'7" it was like looking at a skeleton with sagging skin (luckily not a lot of sagging skin)
now I have gained up to my goal of 145 and I'm staying around here. now some clothes are too small but at least my boobs inflated a little. sorry if that's TMI 😁
have you been staying in maintenance? I see your going to have(or had) some work done, good for you!! one day I would like implants, but my step daughter is 18 getting accepted to some $$$$ colleges and my daughter is 12 and son is almost 7. that's where the money goes right now
    one day ;-)
    anyway, you look amazing!!!!

What kinds of liquid vitamins did you get?
  3. Despite having the flu, I feel excellent. Booked a train trip from California to New York that stops in Chicago. Excited to live out of a backpack for a week, and enjoy 3 different cities and it leaves next week. Also booked our Jamaican cruise that leaves in July. With a New Orleans trip and a visit to family in Iowa also planned, I'd say I have an active few months ahead of me. . . . I am doing my best to maintain my current weight because I do like having curves. I do an addition consult with my plastic surgeon before seducing the actual day. Nervous about going under the knife, but looking at it as one more step in my journey to becoming healthy.
  4. Went to my plastic surgeon consultation, and I plan on getting my mommy make over in March or April. He is only charging $9800 for boob lift with implants, tummy tuck, and lipo. Luckily I have a friend who has already used him and her scar is amazing. She will be getting her breasts done the same day as my surgery so we can recover together. . . . I feel I am fortunate after losing 129 pounds that I don't have a lot of excess skin. For the most part, I have done my best to stay active after the first 3 months post op. . . I am so determined to hit the gym and tone my arms, legs and abs as much as possible prior to surgery!!
  5. So, i am basically 11 months post op, and 123 pounds down at this point. The 18th of this month a friend and I want to go for consultation at the plastic surgeon. I want a tummy tuck and a lift/implants. We decided that April would be the best time so that we are healed by summer and it gives me time to lose the final pounds I'd like to shed prior to surgery. . . . I can honestly say my weight loss journey has been life altering, and I couldn't be happier.

I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I had a tummy tuck and arm lift at the beginning of March. I have really been pleased and would do it all over again in a heartbeat! I would love to have a breast augmentation and a thigh lift someday, but my arms and tummy were my first priority. Best wishes with your journey and plastics. I would be glad to answer any questions you may have.
  7. I'm down 9 pounds this past month, but I'm looking at it as only 21 more pounds to lose before June. Definitely doable!! . . . Since I am back to eating anything I want in very small portions, I'm happy. It seems life is back to normal. I have numerous lunch dates on a weekly basis, and just bring my to go box home to the hubby. He on the other hand isn't complaining about having nearly 2 complete meals each time. Luckily he can't gain a pound to save his life or he would be the next one headed for gastric sleeve surgery. (;
  8. Well, of course I lost the most weight during the first month, but I can honestly say that I am alright with 10 pounds a month right now. As I have stated before, there is a certain fear of losing the weight too quickly for some unknown reason. My personal goal is to lose 30 more pounds by the beginning of June for my middle daughter graduation. I don't think that is unobtainable, so fingers crossed that I can do it!!
  9. Body is so sore!! Monday and Tuesday I not only went to the gym, but also hit the dumbells and exercise balls at my house. Double workout!! . . . I did cheat and do the ab machine, but felt no pain at all. Of course my abdominal area burns this morning, but at least I know I can do the weighted crunches. I am determined to not only lose weight, but to firm my arms, stomach, and legs. (:
  10. So, one of my best friends is getting married, and I am going to be the maid of honor. Gives me the next 4-1/2 weeks to hit my tread mill so I can buy a smaller dress. Plus since she is busy, I am going to be taking her fiance to see the wedding venues and do all the leg work. Going to be a busy month!!
As for how I am doing, everything seems to be running great. Only issue is the inability to sleep. After 2-3 hours, I am wide awake. Of course my body crashes halfway through the day from lack of sleep. Wondering if anyone else has this problem?
  11. Down 41 pounds as of today, which isn't too bad. I guess I see it in my face, but honestly didn't notice too much in my body. Until I put on a pair of jeans yesterday and they were baggy. People say that they could tell a difference and could see that I had lost weight. I suppose since I didn't FEEL a change, I thought they were just being nice.
I am back to eating regularly, so lost more then a single pound this past week. I do find that from time to time I swallow too big of a bite and my tummy seems to burn. Sorry not to be too graphic, but it helps to vomit when that happens. At first I held it in due to fear of popping a staple or springing some type of leak in my stomach. Now I just let my body relieve itself and feel 100% better. Sounds odd, but I believe I was doing more damage by holding down what my body was attempting to reject.
Finally, for all the mommies, I am beginning to feel as though I just gave birth again. You know how your stomach feels kind of empty and soft? (Not sure how to describe.) Well, that's how I am feeling right now! Everything in me wants to hop on the ab machines and put the weights to at least 40, but I fear it might be too soon. Going to have to research it, but I believe this is why they tell some people to seek counseling in order to be equipped to deal with the sudden change to.your body. I'm not to that point, I just wish I could do weighted crunches to begin firming my abdominal area quicker.

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I have enjoyed reading your posts and learning from them.Wishing you continued success in your weight loss journey.
  13. I was doing really good as far as introducing new foods and having no issues at all. Then I got sick and now it is a chore attempting to hold down food. In the past 3 days I only ate once a day and vomited each time. No pain in my abdomen, but getting sick is not exactly fun. It isn't just soft foods, even soups are making me ill. Hmmm, hopefully this passes soon! . . . Oddly enough, with not being able to eat, I only lost a single pound. Going to have to basically force myself back into eating 4-5 times daily. I can tell the difference because when I eat the 5 tiny meals I have energy and feel really good. Right now I just feel totally BLAH, and wouldn't think twice about sleeping straight through today. ):
  14. Hope everyone had an amazing New Years!! . . . We stayed home, bought fireworks, and I must pat myself on the back for making an amazing dinner. Of course I couldn't drink any alcohol, and was barely able to eat any of the food, but it was a great evening. I started my New Years resolution a month early when I had my surgery, and I couldn't be happier about it! . . . On another note, the friend that had surgery with me and I have decided to go to the gym this coming Monday. It will only be 4 weeks out, but I have been chomping at the bit to get some serious cardio in, and see if some of the pounds melt away. 
  15. I am shooting for the 3rd week of Feb. but am waiting for my passport. Might be too close so I can do it in April if that's the case. I really need to be healed up in time for horse back riding season. I have two cousins that had the rouxen-y several years ago. They are doing real well. I also know of many that had the bypass. So I guess my interest wasn't really peaked until people have been sleeving for awhile. I knew I had to have something, just waiting for what fit for me I guess. I am considering Dr. Almanza at this point in time. My Mother will go with me since she won't allow me to go alone.

Major Hair Loss in Month 3. . . . HELP!!

by flakage69 on 03-13-2015 at 08:10 AM
I had read a few post from people that cut their hair in their third month due to hair loss. I guess I just wasn't prepared for the amount that would be falling out. It reminds me of when my mother was going through chemo. ): . . . . I normally have super thick hair, and it has dwindled. I have to keep it long for the wedding and my daughters graduation pictures, but then I intend to cut it short.
My question is, what can I do to either slow down the process or stop it completely? I don't

ANYONE HAVE SOME ANSWERS? . . . Pretty Please (:

by flakage69 on 12-20-2014 at 08:18 PM
Alright, I am 16 days post op and have lost 26 pounds, so definitely no complaints there. I am just worried about losing weight too fast. I was thinking of going to the gym the first of the year, when I am 4 weeks out of surgery, but is that too soon? . . . Also, I have been doing all I can to get my calories up, but even 500 calories in a day and I seem full. Any recommendations on how to add calories without adding sugar? . . . I am crazy about taking all my liquid vitamins daily, and I like
