Hi! I noticed your surgery was just before mine (10 days) and wanted to check in and see how you are doing? i'm 5 almost 6 weeks out and couldn't be happier. even with the emergency surgery i'm doing great. i had an emotional break down in his office yesterday as I was asking him what had happened to me that he operated twice and he was so supportive and kind. gave me all the time i needed. he said it's normal for people who have this surgery to be totally exhausted around 6 weeks. physically, emotionally, mentally so don't be surprised if it happens. i'm already eating most regular food anything that might be tough like all the meats he said to cook them in a slow cooker all day and they will be perfectly tender. it's funny seeing 1 meal i cook turn in to like 10. no kidding. doc said to try a baked potato with chilli from wendy's and it lasted me 4 meals lol. I just wanted to let you know i'm thinking of you and am here for you if you need to share anything. Take care,

    Kat

Hi Honeybell, I had to move my surgery date out to May 29th. So you are going before me! Let me know how it goes. I'm bringing a fun support friend who speaks some Spanish with me. I have found several people online who had great experiences with him. No complications with any of them. I have been preparing myself mentally as much as possible, lots of good books etc. I found a bariatric counselor too. The sleeve will help us, but it's mostly a mental game long term. How much do you want to lose total? I have 141 lbs to get to my goal, so I hope to lose around 6 lbs. a month over two years, or something like that. I AM SO HAPPY TO MEET YOU AND WISH YOU A SAFE AND HAPPY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY! If you want to email me offlist for support, I can be reached at tretaylor7@gmail.com You are not alone! I'm going in a month after you to the same Dr.!!!!! Best Wishes, Tre` Taylor

Post Op labs

by Honeybell on 06-28-2015 at 05:05 PM
I am self pay in Mexico, BC/FL would not pay for revision. Now I have scripts for the 3 month labs, & the Dr. has coded them as specific to Bariatric Surgery. My dilemma is.... should I go thru my Ins, or to a lab that has low rates on Wed, [ pay cash] where most of the uninsured go. I am almost paranoid about using my ins......a little voice tells me my acct. is flagged. If I go to Quest Labs expecting my ins to pay & they deny, it will be very expensive, but a part of me wants to give

4 weeks today

by Honeybell on 05-01-2015 at 08:48 AM
Seems like such a long time ago that I went to Tijuana. I have had a great sleeve experience, any issues were very minor. I have lost 16 lbs, the last 2 weeks were down 1, go up 4 oz, lose 6 oz.... I printed the graph from my fitness pal & saw that I was having a lot of carbs....70 on a few days. I decided that was too much dairy, so now I am trying to stay around 30.
I saw a NUT yesterday, she thought I should have approx. 1000 calories, rather than 700, & carbs could go up to 100,

Gas pains after 2 wks ?

by Honeybell on 04-18-2015 at 06:47 AM
I didn't have any gas pains after surgery, but now I do. My back, shoulder & neck are so sore, almost like I am fighting the flu. Is this delayed gas pains?

Also, I seem have to hit the stall at 10 days. I was down 10 lbs in 10 days, but then went up a bit, so I am trying to increase the protein. The inches are coming off, so I am not stressing too much.
Also, I am getting close to 64 oz of water, I don't count decaf coffee or smoothies. It doesn't seem like I am voiding

First, anyone reading this should know that I plan my daily menus and track all my food on My Fitness Pal. So I really do know how much I've eaten on this journey (calories,
