Hi Mary,
I only know of the pain you can get in your left shoulder (due to the gas that they pump into your abdomen for the operation, I suffered from this for quite some time)
I have never heard of anyone complaining about pain in the navel, interesting to hear from anyone that has.
I would not rule out associated pain, ask the Dr. next time (as I am sure you would anyway) and let us know.

today was a good day, still a little sore but walking and drinking, not as much as yesterday. hanging in there. sore on the left where i have a dimple like area now and my navel when i walk like a burning but they did not go into my navel, anyone experience this?
