Three and a half months.

by arbasham on 03-07-2015 at 10:18 PM
So I made it through my first stall. I've been on a steady loss since. I'm three and a half months out and I've lost 50 pounds. I feel great! I've noticed a tiny bit of hair loss but I'm hoping it won't add up to much. I'm trying hard to get all my protein and water in. I've also noticed some depression and body image issues. I don't feel comfortable in my body. I'm working on it in therapy however. I'm still off insulin...yay! Haven't had an A1C in a while though so I don't know how my

Still stalling

by arbasham on 01-22-2015 at 08:29 PM
I'm still in a stall. It's getting very frustrating. I've made sure I'm getting protein and fluids and exercise. I'm fluctuating between 198 and 196. I really want to lose more weight than just 35 pounds. I know I'm only 2 months out but I haven't lost in weeks. I'm starting to worry I'm doing something wrong, eating too many calories, not exercising enough, etc. I'm in my second week of a couch to 5k and I do that three times a week for 30 mins. I do one day of strength training and do

First Stall :(

by arbasham on 01-16-2015 at 10:48 PM
So, I've hit my first stall. I haven't lost in two weeks. I'm doing everything the same. I guess I'm just catching up with myself. Anyone else have this problem around 2 months? I'm getting about 60 gm protein and around 56-64 oz fluid a day. I'm not drinking with meals and I'm not drinking calories. I have a very minimal amount of carbs with meals or anytime for that matter. I'm jogging and doing the eliptical 30 minutes about 5 days a week and weights once a week. I feel like I'm not

Healing well

by arbasham on 01-07-2015 at 12:58 PM
Since my hospital stay, everything has been going great. I'm continuing to lose weight and the surgeon is very happy with my progress. He's still concerned about the amount of oral medications I'm taking for my diabetes but my endocrinologist wants me on them. My last A1C was 6.3 so I don't know. I feel great. Lots of energy, not really that hungry. I'm joining the YMCA today so I can work on my fitness goals. I just feel like if I can go through what I went through with the surgery and the

In Hospital

by arbasham on 12-30-2014 at 10:40 PM
Well, I got the GI flu. I'm just a little over a month out and I woke up in the middle of the night with it coming out of both ends. Within just a few hours I was so dehydrated that I couldn't think, walk or do anything really. I called my surgeon and he said to go to the ER. I did and they gave me 4 liters of fluids. My BP was around 70/30 and my heart rate was around 145. They admitted me to the hospital and gave me another 3 liters while I was there. I'm home now and I still feel really
