Surviving the camera

This may sound odd, but I have survived for years without really ending up in photos. I never really actively avoided photos. I just never sought them out either. (A bit like mirrors really. I've recently come to a point where I need some photos of myself for a range of applications and I have no idea how to come off well in front of a camera.
I'm confident that I am no longer round and I've taken a couple of shots that are ok (my 10 yo took the profile shot and he did a great

Noticed a common theme occuring, unsupportive families, thought I might throw in my two cents. You have a right to choose. Know your facts, be strong and confident and make the right choice for you. Below are a couple of replies I threw up earlier..
