  2. Marie- Been tryin to call you the last few days to check on you. How's it going? Went to see the Pulmonary doctor today tried on the nasal pillows, honey thank you! I love it and the doctor's going to order for me, can't wait to get that under control. Anywho, happy valentines day, I'll try your number again over the long weekend, ok.

So sorry to hear about what happened to you during surgery, Nicole. Yes, I agree with the doctors, you have got to start using your CPAP. It takes some getting used to, but once you do get used to it you will not want to sleep a night without it. Try using the nasal pillows instead of the masks. I use them, and they are sooo much better and easier to get used to. After you get used to it and start to use it every night, your breathing patterns while you sleep will get better and you will sleep throughout the night.

Yes, we will meet to walk together when the weather warms up. I will keep you in my prayers that all will go well with the rest of your testing.

The pre-op diet is not quite as bad as I thought it would be. I ate anything and everything I wanted right up until the day I started. That is why I decided to start one week early. Hopefully I will loose some of the nine pounds that I gained after being approved.

Talk to you soon my friend.
  4. Hello lady So good to hear from you, I'm doing ok trying to keep my head up. I had that EDC last week and during surgery stop breathing. Now gotta go back to Pulmonary doctor and then meet with the anesthesia doctor before surgery. That kinda freaked me out and had me wondering whether to do this or not. I just hate that machine, so haven't been using it. They tried to get me to promise to use but I'm hardheaded

I too have started to prepare for that pre-op diet so I've been doing smoothies for breakfast, salad at lunch and then small dinner. I don't want to gain another pound nor have the insurance turn me down.

Thinking I'm going to choose the first week in April, by then you will be on your way. But guess what it will be getting nice and we can walk! I'm so happy and excited for you, will be keeping you in my prayers. I promise to do better with keeping track of you, forgive me.

    Hey Nicole,

Just checking in to see how you are doing. It's been a while since we last talked. I started my preop diet today. I started early because I had been eating sooo much that I gained 9 pounds. So I will be on the preop diet for three weeks instead of two. It was my choice to do it. The first day wasn't bad and I did not get hungry all day. I was able to get all my water in and some extra. Now I just hope the next twenty days will go this smooth.

So how is it going with you. Did you get a finalized date yet? Hope it is close to mine so that we can travel this journey together at a close rate of speed. Hope to hear from you soon.

Pushing thru for Change--BUT

by jonsey14 on 04-17-2015 at 09:29 AM
Good Day, I'm now 11 days post op and can I say... I hate this! This has been the hardest thing to do, starting with the liquid diet pre-op up toll now. It has been very challenging around my family not being ably to eat but watching them eat constantly. Almost as if they have been eating more just because I can't eat!

Yesterday, I decided enough! I'm going to eat something, so I started looking thru notes to see what I could eat. I got some mash potatoes, blank beans, a roasted

April 6th Sleevers-

by jonsey14 on 04-03-2015 at 06:14 PM
Hello all-wanted to wish my fellow surgery day sleevers(April 6th) the very best to you all. Monday will be here before you know it,so I'm sending my well wishes today while I'm in a good mood. Not sure what mood I'll be in come Sunday, my thought is the weekend will be very hard to get through verses going to work, Being at work allows you to forget about being hungry or those withdrawal headaches! Geez....anyways I degrees, Thumbs up to those who went thru the pre-op diet with little or no

Alrighty!

by jonsey14 on 03-03-2015 at 07:59 PM
So got the call today(big grin on face)! I'm approved for surgery and choose the date of April 6th. That will give me time to get myself together mentally and physically. I don't even know where to start, the best news I've had in awhile.

At the same time got another call from insurance company denying me for life insurance because of my weight, REALLY! How crazy, but guess what I'll never have to deal with this problem ever again after April. HOORAY! YAY!

The Waiting Game....has begun

by jonsey14 on 02-17-2015 at 06:15 PM
Well, had my last test done yesterday; chest X-ray, blood work and meet with nutrisionist. My doctor's office will be submitting my paperwork for approval hopefully they did it yesterday I'm so excited but nervous at the same token, I've asked for a surgery date of April 6th. My original date was February but then lost my job/insurance and had to wait. So keep your fingers crossed for me, I'm ready to join all the cool sleevers on the other side YAAY ME! Fingers crossed
