Hey...I'm doing great. I'm off all blood pressure meds. I understand your emotions. I only told 3 people, I was having the procedure. People notice my weight loss. I simply say, just getting healthy. My advice is follow your Dr. advice. Each have their own plan. I'm sure you will do well.

Didn't see that your surgery had been approved CONGRATULATIONS! ! ! ! , You're going to do great, let me know if there is anything I can do, Yes you are going to experience all kinds of emotions, but from our previous conversations I'm sure you have prayed about this, so I'm going to say stay positive , believe and push forward. The family and I are doing well. I've started walking added aqua aerobics and a line dance class to my regimen and I start Zumba next week, I've never been excited about exercise but I can't wait for Mon, wed and Sat now, just seeing the weight come off motivates me even more.
Until we speak again take care ! ! !

Hmm.. clothes are a pain. lol. I wore the same pants for what seemed like forever. I just recently started buying things more, since I am pretty close to where I think I will stay. We have Ross here, which is always pretty cheap, but the thrift store is an excellent idea too!! Anything stretchy is a good thing too! I wear lots of leggings now I had a friend who was losing weight just a bit faster than me and gave me lots of her old stuff. If you can find someone with hand-me-downs that's the best!!

Thank you! Physically, I'm doing really good! I'm healing wonderfully, feeling good, doing great on the full liquids diet and have 3 more days until I can start soft foods. But my life just hasn't slowed down enough to really be good for a person recovering from surgery...it just seems impossible to slow down with 4 boys. ANyway, all in all I would say I am doing great... just wish I didn't have so much going on and could kind of take it easy for another week or two. Then again it may be all the rushing around that has me already 20 lbs down!

    Nicole,

Sorry it took so long to respond to your post. I have been very busing trying to prepare for my surgery. It is just 5 days away...wow!!! I am sooo excited. I lost my phone so I have a new number, It is (301)537-2627. My pre-op diet is so difficult for me. I have cheated a few times but nothing drastic. I had my final doctor's appt. on Friday and was too embarrassed when they weighed me. Yes, I had gained weight. So for the rest of this week I am going to strictly stick to the pre-op diet.

I'm glad you checked into the nasal pillows. Once you get used to them, you will not want to sleep without using your CPAP machine. Thanks for checking on me and I will do better to keep in touch.

I'm doing what I believe is very good. I've not had any issues, no pain (not even the gas pains everyone talks about) or nausea. I'm able to get all of my fluid and protein in and have been since getting out of the hospital. I'm on pureed foods now. I started off with 2 oz per meal. I followed the dietitians guidelines and introduced only one new food at a time. She recommended I select fish for my protein for the first two weeks. She said it was easy to digest. I made a rather boring tuna salad with just tuna and low fat mayo. I've had refried beans and pureed sweet potatoes. I returned to work after two weeks and other than being a little tired I'm alright.

I had a really good surgeon. Between him and his partner they only do 3 or 4 gastric sleeve surgeries per week. He does everything else inside your gastrointestinal area, colon cancer, stomach cancer, gall bladder surgery etc. He said they reason they limit the gastric sleeves is because they need to be able to follow up and have a good relationship with their patients.

Hello friend my preop diet consist of 800 cal low-fat low-carb high-protein. I eat 2 meals of 4 oz of meat and 2 serving of vegetables; 2 protein shakes.

Pushing thru for Change--BUT

by jonsey14 on 04-17-2015 at 09:29 AM
Good Day, I'm now 11 days post op and can I say... I hate this! This has been the hardest thing to do, starting with the liquid diet pre-op up toll now. It has been very challenging around my family not being ably to eat but watching them eat constantly. Almost as if they have been eating more just because I can't eat!

Yesterday, I decided enough! I'm going to eat something, so I started looking thru notes to see what I could eat. I got some mash potatoes, blank beans, a roasted

by jonsey14 on 04-03-2015 at 06:14 PM
Hello all-wanted to wish my fellow surgery day sleevers(April 6th) the very best to you all. Monday will be here before you know it,so I'm sending my well wishes today while I'm in a good mood. Not sure what mood I'll be in come Sunday, my thought is the weekend will be very hard to get through verses going to work, Being at work allows you to forget about being hungry or those withdrawal headaches! Geez....anyways I degrees, Thumbs up to those who went thru the pre-op diet with little or no

Alrighty!

by jonsey14 on 03-03-2015 at 07:59 PM
So got the call today(big grin on face)! I'm approved for surgery and choose the date of April 6th. That will give me time to get myself together mentally and physically. I don't even know where to start, the best news I've had in awhile.

At the same time got another call from insurance company denying me for life insurance because of my weight, REALLY! How crazy, but guess what I'll never have to deal with this problem ever again after April. HOORAY! YAY!

The Waiting Game....has begun

by jonsey14 on 02-17-2015 at 06:15 PM
Well, had my last test done yesterday; chest X-ray, blood work and meet with nutrisionist. My doctor's office will be submitting my paperwork for approval hopefully they did it yesterday I'm so excited but nervous at the same token, I've asked for a surgery date of April 6th. My original date was February but then lost my job/insurance and had to wait. So keep your fingers crossed for me, I'm ready to join all the cool sleevers on the other side YAAY ME! Fingers crossed
