At this point do you all think it was worth it? Also, I've been told that since my insurance won't cover the surgery, it also won't cover any issues relating to the surgery and that really concerns me. I can't afford to go back to Mexico for check-ups. Do any of you have the same issue with insurance? Do you see a local doctor for follow-ups?
  3. I am doing ok. How about you. I am having he opposite oroblem. I wake up every night between 1 and 3 and can't get back to sleep. I am back at work full time. I went back 7 days after the surgery. I had to stay on liquids 3 days. Then could have small amounts of oatmeal or cream of wheat, cream soup or jello. Now I am on deli meat and cottage cheese. Soft cooked vegetables and stuff like that. Doing well. Hope they let you move onto soft food soon

    Looking good!
  5. Hope your doing ok. I appreciate the good thoughts and prayers. Same to you. I know this process requires divine intervention for sure. I am ready to go to the next level even if my stomach is not. I am following the doctors recommendations though. I know they know more than I do. It is strange how it feels to eat now. Not sure how it is for you but my full level comes on quickly and without warning. Have you figured this out yet? I am doing fine getting the water down. I just have to be really conscious to get all the protein I need. I am just not hungry and I have to watch the clock and be sure I get it all. Have you had any of the same challenges?

  8. Hello Dpollyann,
I am also having surgery on the 5th. I am ready to have a piece of cheese or ham. I am truly done with protein drinks. I can do one more day. Keep me posted. It is nice to have someone on the same day to track progress with.

3 wk Follow Up

by Dpollyann on 01-26-2015 at 09:32 PM
I had my first follow up appointment today. Down only 15 lbs since surgery - 3 weeks. I thought I would have lost more but doc is pleased. Received clearance for puréed foods ... My doc is super conservative which I'm grateful for as I am resetting my my relationship with food. Thankful for this journey!

On the sleeved side --

by Dpollyann on 01-10-2015 at 05:14 PM
I was sleeved on the 5th. Overall not too bad. Had a large hernia repair that seems to bother me more than the sleeve at this point. Focusing on taking my medicine, getting the protein and liquids in ... Looking forward to pureed stage in just over two weeks (three full weeks of liquid diet). Looking forward to this next stage of my life!

Tomorrow is the Day

by Dpollyann on 01-04-2015 at 10:00 AM
Can't lie ... I'm still nervous but I have done everything, survived the pre-op diet, so I'm ready. When my nerves start getting to me I start reviewing the activities I am looking forward to doing after getting to a healthy weight.

This site has been an invaluable tool to use to help me learn about what to expect. I like reading about the journeys of others ... it provides so much encouragement ... so Thank You!

Pre-op diet harder than I thought

by Dpollyann on 12-25-2014 at 05:34 PM
Today is day five of fourteen. I'm feeling like I can't make it. Headache, hunger pains, etc. I thought it would not be so tough. Has anyone else struggled with the pre-op? Trying to hang in there by taking one day at a time (or minute). Thanks.
