Hi you... hows it going? I'm starting to get a normal schedule going. Had my 2 wk visit yesterday and started on soft foods. I've only thrown up twice LOL.. Anything with just the hint of grease on comes right back up. It's very frustrating to be able to eat only a couple ounces/bits of something and have to stop. I tried fish, not good. tried scallops, ok. yogurt and cottaged cheese seem to be the best so far. My wt has stabilized so far been at the same more or less the last few days.
That terrible taste in my mouth turns out to be ketones. those aint fun. but tonight they are a little better. actually ate a bunch today. well 2 protein shakes and four meals. if'n ya wanna call it meals.
It is a HUGE adjustment. I can't believe it. My wife is wanting to go clothes shopping for me. I'm like no way.. anythng you buy me now will be too big in a month (i hope). I'm not going anywhere where I'll need to be a fashion statement so who cares how big my clothes are. but, it is nice to know I'm down a size already.
I do hope you are doing well. each day is getting better.

Hi again. Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. I had a drain and it was taken out day after sx. Didn't like it. Really not liking any of this. I'm never hungery. I have to force myself to eat/drink. Be glad to start soft foods next week. I'm losing a pound or two every day. I also got this nasty taste in my mouth nothing tastes good. I even tried gum didn't work. I hope this gets better cuz I ain't liking it right now sorry for the negativity but yeah yuck

Hey there, how ya doin'? I'm trying to make it day by day. Today hasn't been all that bad, but i tire quickly. It's tough to keep sipping and getting enough protein in. I have no idea what I was thinking this was gonna be a piece of cake. LOL.... Talk to you soon. Bet we've got some of the same ickiness going on.

Ugh! that doesn't sound like fun at all. You'll do just fine though.

i think I've been very lucky. ONly need one day of pre-op liquid diet, not the wk or 2 of it. I've been doing the protien shakes for 7 mos. now so I'm well used to it. Just real nervous about the "no return" of it all. Worried about all the aspects of going under and all. I have confidence in my surgeon and the staff. but, all the same I'm still nervous. heck it's three days away. the tiny meals drinking a ton of water etc. big changes....

Don't know what else to say. I will say, I'll be here to chat with ya and swap notes on how things are going.

thinking about starting a blog to document my journey. Had the wife take some 'fat' pictures of me the other day to start the visual documentation. funny most of the pictures around the house don't have me in them. reckon thats a cuz I'm taking the pictures.... lol

I was on clear liquids for a week, full liquids for another week, puree'd foods for a week, soft foods for a week and then slowly moved on to regular foods while still including the previous foods into my daily food intake. Just don't get ahead of yourself. Take small sips and then small bites. Don't be in a big hurry to eat whatever you want.

Keep a positive attitude and you will do great!
