    Hey Gina,

I finally hit 199 on Thanksgiving day.....I posted a before and after pic. I have some other pics just haven't figured out how to post more than one yet lol....It's amazing how just 46 lbs. makes a difference....looks like we're all losing pretty good....one doesn't realize how much of a burden extra weight has on the body...I hope through this surgery I will have hedged against ever being 245 again. If I reach my goal of 160, I should be a perfect medium for me which is all i can ask for. How are you doing? Hope all is well

Hey.... I hit the 48lb mark the other day! I have about 40lbs more to reach my big loss goal.

Now that we are reaching 6 weeks out, we can start some real exercising and cardio. I wonder what my new weight will be by the time Christmas rolls around.... hmmmm!!!

Got to admit, I am starting to get some compliments at the local stores and businesses that I have been going to for years. (feels great)

Finally the drain site is clearing up. I am getting headaches so I have to drink that protein drink that is yucky tasting, but I don't care. I ate canned chicken with a little plain yogurt to make it moist and the broth from wonton soup. Been loosing 1-2 lbs a day since surgery. Today I am down 22lbs, 11 days post op. I used my 5 day pre op beginning fasting weight as my starting point. So down 22 in 16 days. Wow!
  9. Hey everyone! I got my stitches out today, everything is looking good. Your weight will fluctuate up and down! Don't worry about it. Your body is in shock mode and doesn't know what to do. It will pass! My mom said it's normal! She gained 2 lbs one week. Lost 6 the next. I haven't taken any pain meds since the flight. So far so good!

    Hey,

Hows it going? I stalled in my weight loss lol.....I got to 230 and haven't lost any weight this week lol..In terms of going to the bathroom I seem to be getting back to regular.....I'm giving it about 3 days then im gonna take these stitches out. I still feel a little bloated at times but haven't taken an pain meds yet. I started to experiment with moving on to some more solid like foods making sure I chew heavily........I guess the weight goes off when its ready to lol.........let me know how its going for you.....I wonder how the others are doing.....

22 days into my new life. LIFE PLAN & GOALS

by ihavestandards on 09-01-2014 at 09:20 PM
So today makes day 22! I am starting to get back into the swing of normal life and I think it's time to start the planning and goal setting. For the first 2 weeks of my post-op, I just focused on recovery. I am still struggling with drinking enough and getting my protein in so I am not adhering to any specific diet. I am just eating whatever I can stomach that provides me with nutrition and calories. Starting on week 4, I plan on focusing on an actual plan of action to lose this weight. As of right

*UPDATE* 2 weeks Post OP!

by ihavestandards on 08-27-2014 at 06:54 PM
Hey everyone. Today marks 2 weeks since I had surgery in Mexico with Dr. Almanza I went back to work 6 days after my surgery and my energy is finally getting back to normal. My incisions are healing but I am still extra careful with the drain incision as I know that if the scab falls off, it will probably open up a little. This week I have done a little more walking than usual and today was the first day I did some training activities with the pooches ( I do AKC Performance Events). Changes: I

Day 10

by ihavestandards on 08-23-2014 at 10:08 PM
Today is day 10 and I am getting better each day. I had my stitches removed and my drain hole is no longer leaking. It is scabbed over so I am not wetting it the shower but washing it separately to ensure it does not get soaked. I have steri-stips on all of my incisions and I feel like I can finally move without restriction of those bothersome stitches. My abdomen is still swollen but it has gone down. I am slowly getting back to myself. I am able to drink a lot more than I could a few days ago.

Day 7.

by ihavestandards on 08-20-2014 at 09:41 PM
So today I started full liquids. I was able to get down about 6 oz of Naked Juice Protien and about 8 oz of cream of tomato soup. Water intake was probably around 14 oz. Not great but I'm working on it. I have been back to work for 2 days now and the weight is coming off. My abdomen is still very large. I still cannot fit into my FAT jeans (the pants I could wear pre-surgery) and I have lost 17 lbs. Doesn't make much sense. My incisions appeared to be healing.. or so I thought. Tonight, in the shower,

First week on the other side of the sleeve...

by ihavestandards on 08-18-2014 at 08:23 AM
I had gastric sleeve with Dr. Almanza on 8/13/14. My surgery was textbook. I had no complications during surgery and no pain. To avoid the terrible gas pains, I began walking within 10 minutes of being wheeled into my room from recovery. I burped, passed gas and never had the dreaded gas pains. The nursing staff is not as capable as the US nurses I have had in the past. They messed up 2 of my IV's. One hand was swollen for almost 2 days and I ended up receiving my antibiotics in the butt. THAT hurt!
