Hi Jenn, I contacted ALM early this week and have surgery scheculed for late this month. As long as they have and opening in their schedule and you have time to do the preop diet (2 weeks) then you don't have to weight months or years if you don't want to. Ideally you could have it before you start this semester if they have an opening. Hope this helps.
  2. Thank you!
Hey! I'm doing fine I hope you're doing well.I've spoken with A Lighter Me, only thing is I'm about to start school full time this fall and I'm not able to miss a whole week. So I'm hoping to schedule my appointment around the end of December.I would really be bringing in the new year with weight loss I've been on this journey for the past three years trying to get weight loss surgery...after having test after test after test going through 25 different programs.3 years ago I started looking into weight loss surgery...have the insurance had my first appointment, had all my tests in the EKG,nutrition, the barium swallow test, ect.;had to pay out of pocketfor all the testing... Had a psychological exam which cost me 400 for only 10 minutes of my time.I was approved for the surgery, I was a perfect candidate for the surgery. All I had to do is wait on my insurance to approve it, and of course they denied it. reason why is my BMI had to be greater than 40 for more than three years. My BMI at that time was only over 40 for 2 years and 11 months so they denied me.at that point I spent all the money thatI could on testing and insurance that following month I was laid off the job that I've been with for over 7 years. I am now exploring having surgery in Mexico, I am beyond excited to be back on track with weight loss surgery.

that's a little bit of background of me hahaha..I'm just very hesitant about everything, but I haven't given up hope on my goal

Hi, Jenn, everything has gone very well so far. I have Janese as my coordinator and she is fine. Everything is set and I'm just waiting for the date. The little I've been able to learn about Dr. E. Ortiz is positive. He is young, but very skilled. I feel pretty confident.

How are you doing? Read the posts, there is a lot of really good information here. Also, We are all here to support one another.
