I bruise very easily but somewhere in there something got cut that had a blood vein and it started bleeding and didn't stop. I think my blood has stabilized so no transfusion. I'm really hoping to go home today.

I had my surgery on Thursday but I am still in the hospital. I had internal bleeding that wasn't stopping and they thought they were going to have to do a transfusion. I'm hoping to go home today. I can see improvement and I thought I had myself prepared but I was not and this really scared me. Thanks for thinking of me!

I am doing so well! Almost all my pain is gone and I'm only 7days out from surgery. Dr Q is amazing and so kind. He's also very, very smart and an excellent surgeon. Everyone is very kind at the clinic and they only want you to feel comfortable.

Here's a couple tips... I had only had general anesthetic once before for my wisdom teeth. What I didn't know is that for the first couple of days after your surgery you will feel depressed (this is a common side effect of general). There were several times that I was convinced I had made a horrible mistake. That was just the pain and depression talking! Try not to get bogged down in those feelings, they pass relatively quickly. I did mourn my stomach during that time. Lol, it sounds weird but I had to make peace with the fact that a piece of me is permanently gone.

The second thing I'll tell you is that if you're not already a good burper then practice before you go down. You WILL need that skill. I am a horrible burper (always have been) and I think this greatly increased my discomfort for the first couple of days after surgery. Try to cultivate a loud, Homer Simpson type burp. It will feel so good to move that gas out of you after surgery.

Hi there thank you for the messages, you are too kind! When I got there they put my iv in and drew blood at the same time. That is the only testing I had and as far as I know it was just all the basic testing. If you have any concerns pre hand of things I would suggest talking to Dr Q about them as he's wonderful and has your safety in mind the whole time let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to help.
