Its probably his fears of what you will be like after you make all the changes you have to make inorder to succeed in a new healthy lifestyle. My husband had a small issue with fear at times like when old friends of mine would come by and visit and they would mention how great i looked. He never did anything in front of anyone but once after an old friend (and old high school crush) left, my hubby grabbed me and almost pick me up and told me harshly "you're mine" which at that moment mad me both mad and hot so it was kind of a fun thing to have happen lol. My hubby has never been possessive over me but that time I could really see the fears he was dealing with. It takes you being reassuring and understanding that as you change he has to change in some ways with you and he may be scared of the entire process. He may not feel good enough for you. My hubby also confessed that to me once a while back that he never has felt good enough for me but then i never felt good enough for him. That is when I told him I guess good enough isnt good enough and we both have to try harder to believe in our selves and each other. I hope that helps in some way Its not the easiest thing but this journey you are embarking on is totally worth it I am sure he will love the changes you make once he gets used to them.

If iis his insecurities. My husband was exactly the same. I had to reassure him 2 or 3 times a day and still have to at least once a day that I love him and am the same girl inside as I always was. I am just a thinner me. Build his confidence in your relationship by verbally telling him how much he is and always will be loved and show him lots and lots of affection. Then he will know that you are totally committed to him and staying physically attracted to him. This has helped me and my husband in every way. Best of luck, Shirley

Need advice.....

by Sharon77 on 09-13-2014 at 06:54 PM
I received the all clear to start soft foods this past Tuesday. The first thing I ate on Wednesday was 2 1/2 grilled nuggets from Chick-fil-A. They were like Heaven! So I bought some later that day for lunch on Thursday (I went back to work that day)! I did fine on Wednesday & Thursday. But Friday I ate a piece of Parmesan chicken from the cafeteria (I scrapped all the breaking off). It felt like that chicken was trying to karate chop it's way out all afternoon. So I didn't eat much of anything

Just a little YEAH!!

by Sharon77 on 09-05-2014 at 09:43 PM
When I started my journey in April, my weight was 304 lbs, then after going through the liquid diet twice, my actual pre-surgery weight was 285.7 lbs. Today I bought a scale (first time in 37 years) and I am proud to announce my 8 day post op weight is 273.6 lbs! That is a total loss of 30.4 lbs gone forever!! YEAH!!

Well, I went & pushed it too far....

by Sharon77 on 09-01-2014 at 01:02 PM
I had VSG 8/28, came home on 8/30, & last nite I ate a slice of cheese. It didn't bother me a bit. I had tried yogurt throughout the day with no issues. This morning, I woke up knowing I needed to get all my protein in. So I grabbed a shake, sipped on it for about 2 hours (never finished it because they are starting to make me nauseated) then got a little cocky & ate a whole container of Greek yogurt. It took me about 45 mins to finish it. Then, it hit. Yep! My 1st episode of dumping. Not.

Strange question....

by Sharon77 on 08-31-2014 at 08:51 AM
I ask all of those that have gone before......when will my stomach stop making such horrible loud noises? I am 3 days post op & the sounds are so loud it woke me up today. I know it's just water going through but goodness, never would have thought it would be like this.
On a positive note, I finally had a BM. Yeah! I am so ready to be healthy & figure out the workings of my new pouch. Thanks for any advice.

Question about relationships....

by Sharon77 on 07-28-2014 at 09:40 PM
What has the experience been for everyone that is in a relationship?

My husband of 15 years knew me when I was skinny, then when the weight started, my pregnancy weight, my heaviest and now he almost acts as if he doesn't want me to be skinny again. Since we started dating when I was 15 and he was 22, you would think he knows I'm not going to stray....I never have! He tells me he will support me, and every now and then, he will say something about how exciting it will be to shop for
