  3. Thanks for your kind thoughts Char602 and Jma53. I'm now three days out from surgery and feeling pretty good. Still some discomfort, but given the seriousness of this surgery, I surprised that I feel as well as I do (knock on wood it continues). By the way, I hope your surgery went well OMG_myjourneybegins!

I know you are having surgery today, CONGRATS!!! feel free to e-mail me with any questions or if I can be of help don't hesistate to ask. Good luck with everything, I am 1 year out next week and this forum was a great help to me. Hope to hear from you soon, make sure you stay hydrated and can't stress that enough.
  6. Thanks so much for your messages! Good luck with your surgery, OMG_myjourneybegins! I'll be thinking of you on the 28th! And thanks for the encouragement Vegimen1962. I really appreciate your reaching out. Having decided to tell no one that I'm having this surgery, I'm feeling terribly alone and very frightened. That you both took the time to write me makes me feel considerably less so. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

I think it really is determined by how prepared you are, had mine on last Monday ...but no serious complications...I started walking months before so I was able to get up and walk in hall that night, plus that Iv had me up every 2 hours going to "P"...lol....I am off the pain meds and drink liquids (a lot) but looking forward to next step....even bought real baby food, chicken with sweet potatoes & turkey with same. Tired of the jello but going out to get some beef broth soon, don't like the broth I have...you need to be mentally ready, that is all that is stopping you. I was over excited and it paid off. So now after the depression 1-2 days I am off and ready to climb uphill...

Returning to New York from Mexico, I was excited to begin my new life. I had no particular expectation with respect to weight loss. I knew, on average, that people lost 10lbs a months--but I also knew, from reading other people's posts in various forums, that everyone loses at a different weight.

Still, when I weighed myself the day after my return, Sunday, November 2nd, 6 days out from surgery, I never anticipated that I would see the scale say: 250lbs. Particularly given the
