- I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Put on my first diet at the age of 8 by a mother who was concerned about me becoming heavy having struggled with weight herself. Ahe age of 8 I was actually not heavy at all...but this started a cycle of dieting that has lasted more than three decades and has made me progerssively heavier. I have lost and regained 100s of pounds over the course of my lifetime. I also suffer from Crohns-Colitis, am pre-diabetic, and was recently diagnosed with GERD.

Returning to New York from Mexico, I was excited to begin my new life. I had no particular expectation with respect to weight loss. I knew, on average, that people lost 10lbs a months--but I also knew, from reading other people's posts in various forums, that everyone loses at a different weight.
