    I am going to stick with ground meat for a bit longer. I also have to admit, I am not doing any activity yet. I should be getting up everyday and walking or some sort of physical activity. But I am not yet back to work and have started getting lazy. I think it really has to do with exercise. Some sort of exercise. You mentioned you are feeling miserable. Are you still having pain or just overall weakness? Ive been drinking water or Clear juice 50/50 with water. I drink at least one protein shake a day, I should be having 2. I am still more comfortable eating ground beef, soups, oatmeal, potatoes, yams and mashed beans. Maybe you need a little more protein. I was also told to have a meal/snack of some sort every 3 hours. You dont want to starve yourself but it is learning a whole new way of eating. I really can only eat 2-3oz at a time. You dont want your body to think its starving and hang on to its fat storage. Im doing my best not to obsess over the scale but its happening. I weigh myself 3 times a day and I need to stop. Maybe we are hitting our 3 week stall. Who knows. I wish I could lose big numbers like I see from others but I am not so I cant beat myself up. My dr said 2lbs a week x52 weeks is 100+ lbs lost so I am sticking to that thought. I also have been off my pain med 7 days after surgery. My belly is still very tender since I opted for the spider surgery which goes thru your belly button. Anyways, definitely keep in touch.

    Hi Linda, We are at the experiencing the same things. I think I have only lost 2lbs this week also! I went for my post op visit last week and I saw the nurse. I was told I should lose 30 lbs this month! What the heck? HOW? I am eating most things now. Though I still do better with soft or puree. I had about an ounce of chicken with a scoop of rice for dinner and was horribly stuffed. I couldn't even finish.

    Linda, I am sooo hungry. Chicken broth is not cutting it for me. I cheated today and had a few bites of refried beans. they were smooth. I have been having trouble getting protein in this week. Milky stuff seems to have me in the restroom alot. I thought the hunger was from not enough protein. I tried some protein bullets that I got at Walmart and it was just as bad tasting as my pain medicine. So, I figured if i am going to be struggling like that I will deal with the poops my protein shakes give me. And there are absolutely no vitamins in the protein bullets. So today i will have had over 60 gm protein and I will just get back on track tomorrow. I want to be able to tell my dr that I am getting what I need in my system so she will move me up to puree.

5 pound loss in 3 months. That's it?

Hello All. I am nearly at my 7 month anniversary. I have been at 155 for about 7 weeks now. Why? I mean I know what I'm doing wrong, but I was wrong before and was still losing. Is 6 months when it all comes to a very slowwww halt? Back to basics right? Having to lose 20 more pounds for that last 2 months is maddening to me. Is it time to recalibrate? And how do you do that again? Because I will never do another protein shake again in my life! Thanks for any help.

The Carb Creep

So in the last week I have been adding a new thing to my diet (I'm 8 weeks out of surgery). It's called SWEETS. Wow it is so important to log every bite you put past your lips. So, though I'm not Catholic, I have given up SWEETS for lent (because Christ got me this far it is the least I can do..). Be aware, very aware of what you put in this newly formed stomach. Cheating is so different than bad habits. I little bag of sweettarts, 1/4 chocolate donut, blah blah blah a day is a bad habit coming

Is it the vitamins, cheese, iron pills? Sorry but pooping every third day can't be healthy! So should I be religious with the stool softener?? Ugh!!!

1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after eating with the fluids is driving me crazy.

64 oz of water but I have to wait 1/2 before I eat and 1/2 hour after? This "new" habit is driving me crazy. No wonder I'm only getting in about 40 oz of water a day. Any suggestions?
