Thanks Karen!! I am still a little confused about the foods stages but I feel just fine. About to head out to purchase a Magic Bullet blender and some more recommended protein powders! I find it hard to figure out how to get all of the protein in without taking in too much liquid and stretching things. I haven't had one bit of nausea, have you?

Heading in for my first visit to the scale since I got home, I still feel pretty bloated but still hopeful. I can't believe that you are already down 18, that is fantastic!!! Any tips would be very much appreciated.

    Best,
    Jodi

Good Luck. I thought it would be extremely to lose it was slower than most but steady and I am happy with that. I have been getting so many complements and so glad I did it. My thyroid med dosage has been coming down with the wt. loss also so be aware you will need to check in with your Dr. about that. Keep in touch and let me know how you make out.

Thanks for the message. I am hanging in there, but I think the lack of caffeine is making me feel a little down.
How are you feeling? I absolutely love your avatar saying...it was a nice reminder this morning. I am glad to have another person going through this with me. I hope your day is going great and I am behind you 100%
  10. small world indeed.
It's all about my ex's insurance. Harford county will only pay for a lap band. I was ready to file appeal but then out of the blue, Dr. Schweizer's office called and said I was approved. I asked three times if they were certain. Yes....went for chest X-ray and bloodwork. IV in....stockings on....drugs starting....swear to god I could have killed someone. I ended up pulling my own IV out! It was horrific. I've lost all hope. I am looking into mexico as we speak as I can't wait. I am going to get money out of my 403b. I don't care. I just can't live like this any longer.

I feel your pain. My experience with Bayview were not favorable (Dr Steele looked at me and told me that the gastric sleeve would not work for me.) and I promptly switched centers. I had by sleeve done by Dr Liao at GBMC and had no problems.

I would check with the Bayview co-ordinator and find out what the status is of your appeal--or even if they have filed one. I don't know what your BMI is, but if it lower, it may be that the person who submitted the paperwork didn't include any co-morbidities that you may have.
If you truly see this surgery as a way to regain your health and mobility, please do not give up! Find out what is going on and if necessary switch centers. If you get copies of your paperwork at Hopkins, this should transfer to a new center so that you don't have to start from scratch.
I had my surgery at age 56.5 and do not regret a thing. It has given me my life back.
Small world, as I also live in Middle River.
