wow, I was viewing before and after photos and saw yours. I was sleeved 8-26-2015 and have lost 47 lbs so far. I hope I look as good as you by my 1 year anniversary. Did you exercize a lot or was it just food restriction.

Nope -- my bariatric surgeon removed my gall bladder 4 weeks after my VSG surgery. I don't miss it at all.

And no, I'm not sharing any pix of me online (either before or after) because I'm on the down low re having had WLS. Sorry.

Hey, Heather. Doing great. How are you feeling without a gall bladder?

You look like a completely different person. I remember your initial avatar photo when you were lying in bed. You look so much younger these days -- heck, even I look younger these days.

Thanks Heather (it's actually me in my pj's with no make-up on but my other half says you can tell I've lost weight in it, which was good enough for me) Things at this end are going really well! I've lost just over 3st since 6th July (pre op diet start day) and am delighted with that! The fact that my weight hasn't ever gone up since my op (it used to go up for no apparent reason pre op) is truly wonderful to me and I feel 100% healthier than I did before! I'm now comfortably back on 'normal food' and am now just 'going with the flow'.
So how's everything going at your end? X

So sorry to hear you're having a tough time hon The good news though is that it WILL get better and you'll be bouncing around before you know it! When were you sleeved again? Just try to go with the flow and remember how well you're doing already! (You're doing FAB!)
Eating is going well (I'm basically on solids now) Today I was out with my mother and we ended up accidentally having lunch at McDonalds!! I ate 4 chicken nuggets (170 cals) and felt comfortably full (yay!!) I don't plan to make Fast Food a regular part of my diet but it did the trick
Hope you're feeling better very soon. P.S. I live in Manchester

Hi Heather Things are going really well thanks I'm 5 and a half weeks out and feeling healthier already. I've lost approx 33lbs since 6th July (pre-op diet start date) and have gone from 17st something to 15st something (nearly in the 14's) How are things at your end? X

hi Heather, how are you getting on? Hope the gas is finally easing off now xx

I was nervous the morning of I must admit but honestly you are in good hands and you will be through it before you know it. I am getting on great and the only thing I had an issue with was the gas the first few days but lots of walking and peppermint tea etc really helped. From the moment I was allowed to I was walking down the corridors of the hospital. Wishing you a speedy recovery xxx

Megan, please google: WLS cross addiction

Here's one article: Obesity Action Coalition » Weight-loss Surgery and Cross Addiction: A Look at Binge Eating Disorder

Cross addictions are a risk for WLS patients -- not guaranteed, but a risk. When we don't have food to soothe us anymore, we may use other substances to soothe us post-op. This risk extends to people who are not alcoholics pre-op.
