  1. to day I start my writing everything down that I eat and drink and I ate a cream of wheat for breakfast to start weening myself off solid food on semi soild for a while thenafter that it do lunch for a while then dinner.
  2. I went to my first dietitian visit and boy it's a little overwhelming at leaset for me it seems I don't know where to start all I know is that in six months I am to be on total liquid. They gave me a list of things I have to quit, change , or add to my diet. Like protein have to learn to add, shakes, eggs, Greek yogurt. Limit carbs that is easy for me I did that along time ago. Plan meals never did that so that will be a challenge. Measure portions I have started with that so that's ok. Eating out well I don't have that problem I love to cook at home. include more fruit and veggies that's easy if you like to cook like I do. this on is a hard one Avoid/limit desserts/candy/soda. Start a low fat diet already done that so that's a breeze. this is another really hard one Eliminate that's the word that's put on sheet and that what she said "Eliminate" sugary, caffeinated, carbonated drinks this is going to be hard. Drink 64oz water flavored or not per day. No Alcohol no problem. Quit smoking no problem, Chew food thoroughly to liquid consistency before swallowing. Sip what you drink NO chugging or gulping an NO straws and I love my straw so that's suck big time. Increase activity I walk every where I don't have a car. NO LIQUIDS 30 MIN BEFORE,DURING, 30MIN AFTER MEALS that is really going to be hard for me because I am just so use to drinking while eating it's second nature to me. She showed me some different proteins and that's it.

Thank you. I actually had surgery at the Surgical center on MacArthur. My pre op consisted of low carb/fat 2 weeks out, and liquids 2 days out. I didn't really stick to the 2 week well, mostly because it felt like it was my last chance to binge. I didn't have to lose a certain amount pre op. I did have a psych eval, met with a dietician and I had an upper endoscopy. I didn't have apnea, so no sleep study.

I have read tons of stories on here about how difficult it was to get approved and how far out people had to start, including 6 month pre op diets and co-morbids and such. I had my first appointment in early November and went from there.

Surgery was 2/7, and I have lost 81lbs as of this morning. I had a very easy procedure and little pain. I have been very lucky. No regrets at all.

I just started exercising about 6 weeks ago (I know... I put it off). I go to the gym and do light lifting and treadmill 3-4 times a week. I go to the private gym where my husband works... It's free.

    Where are you having surgery?
