Thank you! I guess it went well. Don't really remember much except apparently I was in a lot of pain, but the surgical center nurses were so nice to give me wonderful drugs. Surgery was at 8 a.m. and I finally went home at 6:00 pm. Slept good and have been great today. Walking every hour, doing the breathing exercises and trying to doze a bit. Haven't really needed any paid meds today so life is good. Working on my protein drink. A few sips at a time. No nausea or other pain! Plus we get to remove the drain this afternoon -- that should be fun.
  2. Pain near gone. Still on clears and very tired of them! I actually am starting to have the "hungry" feeling again. I have to really push to get the protein shakes down cuz I am sick of them already. SF jello and broth aren't cutting it. looking forward to "full' liquids next week.
  3. Came home yesterday. Cant say I feel the greatest but I know it is hard in the beginning. Some nausea and pain. Crushing my medications makes me gag, they taste terrible. I am focusing on getting in my minimal amt of fluids in. I have tried my first protein shake, it was pretty good. Been walking around the house for exercise. My largest laparoscopic site is the one that is giving me the most pain so I am keeping an ice bag on it, which helps. The vitamins and chewable calcium taste terrible at this point. Still very tired, sluggish, I think it is the oxycodone.
  4. Thank you so much Skibabe

A book, laptop, lip balm, I brought my own pillow too. I also brought my old maternity pillow as it help me lie on my side. A water bottle is good too - they've given me a cup but I get less burpy with the bottle (you will be burpy after!). I've started a weight loss journal and have brought that too. One extra pair of undies than you think you might need. And wash things. That's about it, I'm on my second day post-op and besides walking regularly, am mainly sitting in bed watching tv, catching up on the internet and reading. Good luck, there's very little pain I'm finding, just wicked burps! :-)
  6. Well I have been on clear liquids all day, surgery in the am. I got an area in the kitchen with all my pills, sf candy, crystal light etc, for when I come home. What the heck should I bring to the hospital? Clothes, toothbrush, comb, and ??
