  1. Hey friends! I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy taking care of my husband from his unexpected hospital stay while we were in Vegas!! YUCK!! 10 days in the hospital instead of 7days of celebrating my birthday and our anniversary! All is well, though!
I quit losing weight about 2 months ago, but my surgeon is happy with my weight. I just naturally stopped losing and am maintaining a 95 pound weight loss. I feel great and am not having any complications right now! YAY! My goal was 118 but 121 is as low as I could get.....not too bad! My real goal was to be HEALTHY and I have to say I feel sooooo much better! This surgery certainly helped all of my other health issues and I am astounded at the results! It feels good to feel good again! I want to encourage any one thinking about having the bariatric surgery to go for it! It is a safe way to better your life and your health and though it is tough at times, it is all worth it! This forum provides so much encouragement and true experiences that help guide you on this journey! The journey isn't over and will never be. After all the weight is off and you feel normal....you still panic at the gain of a pound or two and need the support that this forum offers! Good luck to all of the beginners here and congratulations to all those who have successfully met their goal or are on their way to meeting them!

9 Months Post Op

by lrtduck on 04-28-2015 at 01:05 PM
Well it feels soooo good to say that I am 9 months post op from having the gastric sleeve. I am so happy with the results and encourage anyone who is thinking about this surgery to give it a lot of serious consideration. It has literally been a life saver for me! I started my journey at 218 and weighed in today at 126. I went in to surgery with two leaking valves in my heart, high blood pressure, sleep apnea which required a CPAP nightly, acid reflux, and painful back issues after a 360 fusion on

My Journey Home

by lrtduck on 03-28-2014 at 08:07 PM
Hello Friends!
This is my first blog entry. I have been on a high protein, low fat, no sugar diet for about 2 months. I have lost a few pounds....maybe ten...and I am making myself walk every day. I had a 360 fusion on two levels in my back a couple of years ago and still have pain from nerve damage and an additional bad disk. Walking seems to irritate all of it but what the heck....The benefits have to outweigh the pain!! I have to admit that it is getting a little easier and I have gone
