Hey no prob feel free to ask anything. Milk huh? I was told no more milk ever again only yogurts, cheese, and cottage cheeses and of course 1500mg of calcium daily. But everyone is different so are what our doctors tell us. I tried to take a sip of skim milk and it made me sick so that's a big help for me because I loved milk. But I haven't been able to drink coffee either and I used to all the time doesn't smell or taste good. I even have perfume I can't stand to wear any more senses have definitely heightened.

My 1st week was hard I was also very swollen and had a lot of air yet inside the doc said. I weighed 10lbs more my 1st week than I did the day of my surgery. I threw up a lot at first in the hospital was there for 3 days. They kept trying to get me to drink an extremely sweet protein shake that my stomach wanted nothing to do with. I was OK with sipping water but learning to keep a water bottle with you at all times or crystal light is key in keeping hydrated that's so important even if your not thirsty sip not drink sip it. Different flavors of crystal light might keep you away from the sorbet or sugar free popsicles...My second week I started losing 2 to 3 lbs a day basically losing the air and swelling weight, 3rd and forth weeks slowed down to about a pound a day. This is my 5th week and it,s about the same with 2 days where I had lost nothing.

Almost 8 months since my op and feel like s new person!

by StueyB on 10-23-2014 at 11:13 PM
Hi all, thought I'd just drop a quick update as I haven't been on for a while. Weight loss has definitely slowed, and my nutritionalist doesn't feel that my body frame will allow me to lose too much more, but then I have lost 69kg in just under 8 months! She is suggesting I may only lose another 3-4kg, although I think I'm going to prove her wrong and I'm aiming for another 7-8kg loss lol. That said, if I weren't to lose anymore weight, I'd be very happy to stay where I am .

14 weeks post op

by StueyB on 06-20-2014 at 08:54 AM
Wow! I'm feeling amazing! I'm now 14 weeks post op and a total of 9st lighter than I was 2 years ago when I started consultations for my op. Since my op I have lost 6st and have lost 12 inches from my waist. I'm now down to 19st 6lb (123kg or 272lb). What's more is that both my diabetes and sleep apnoea have gone, I no longer snore when I'm asleep and I can play golf again (without so much as sweating!). I just wish I had done this sooner!!
My food intake is still quite low, sometimes just

4 wk post op update...

by StueyB on 04-01-2014 at 10:56 AM
So, 4 weeks in and I'm feeling great! Since my op on the 4th March I have lost 25lbs, 40lbs in total since the start of my pre-op diet 7 days prior. I'm now down to 316lbs.

I have been on liquid only diet since the op and about to begin the puréed stage. I have been lucky so far in that I have had very few issues and I have managed to enjoy soup once a day, although that said, i NEVER feel hungry! I'm not saying I don't have cravings, but I don't feel hungry so I can ignore those
