Afraid of not meeting 1st goal

I had my surgery on May 19th 2014 and last tuesday i was given my first goal for this coming tuesday ( june 10th) I am still 18 lbs from my goal. Any advice on what I can do to lose more weight. P.S. I just started walking - dr told me light exercise only; also in soft food stage. Any suggestions would be great.
