Hi - I do not have a surgery date yet. I go to my seminar @ Castle on 2/15. I have decide to go from band to by pass. I have seen Mary Arakaki and watch the new DVD and filled out my personal form and been to my primary care physician for her form request form and got that in last week. I missed the previous seminar by 3 days for January. Even though I had been through most of this almost 3 years ago for my band I have to do almost everything over again. I've been seeing Mary on a regular basis and Dr. Lovette, my psychologist through the program. I'm fairly stressed about this but anxious to get on with my life. How are you doing with your sleeve? My Aunty lives in Anahola and had a sleeve done by Dr. Fowler. She is doing so awesome! Thanks for the friend and kind message. I'm not sure if I will be staying on this forum because I'll be getting a bypass revision vs going to a sleeve. I really enjoy this forum though. Aloha, Dani

Oh, thank you so much! I think everybody needs a genuine cheerleader sometimes. This is a really tough road, and it's not something that most of our family and friends can relate to very well. We all need each other from time to time.
I totally hear you about the food! Instead of the constant nibbling at cake crumbs and left over frosting that I used to do, now I'll have a little taste to test it, then spit it out. I still love my art of cake decorating and sugar work, but I just don't allow myself to fall back into that habit. From time to time I have to go look at old pictures and even admire my new fancy-butt jeans to remember why I needed to change, and reinstate that junk doesn't taste as good as being healthy feels. I still love food, just in smaller quantities. And I honestly think I'm better able to appreciate cleaner, more delicious dishes without all the over-processed crap I used to eat. You can still love being a chef and a total foodie! And you may surprise yourself with a new, refreshed drive at better meals. Feel free to pass along any "must have" recipes!
