Naki - Everybody has been very supportive here and willing to listen or answer all of my questions so far. I am scheduled with Dr. Almanza on Aug 12th. I plan to get back on the morning of the 13th and post how I am doing and how nurses are treating everyone.... feel free to reach out.

So far, no negative comments on the nurses, hotel, etc. Mostly I hear about broth, popsicles, taking lotsa short walks and how good it feels when they can finally pass gas!

We will be there at the same time. My wife and I are going to stay an extra day and check out on Saturday morning. See you soon. Dave

Good luck to you. Go to your surgery and have it done. You will NOT regret it. You will wish that you had it done sooner though. Keep us informed on the forums. I like to get to know everyone personally on here and feel free to pm me anytime you wish. Everyone on the forums genuinely cares about the members here.

You are very beautiful. The results for the procedure will work in your favor! See ya around! - Richard.

When you go, just remember to make it perfectly clear what surgery you are going for. Do NOT get the Gastric Bypass. It is a more complicated procedure and there are more risks. Don't get the lap band either. Its a temporary solution that you will regret after a couple of years. They will have to open you up and remove it eventually. Go for the safest, most viable solution. The Gastric Sleeve. When you are in pain, or preferably, when you start feeling pain or discomfort you need to tell them. and tell them. and tell them. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Be squeaky and you will do fine in Mexico. Don't forget to ask questions during the pre-opt. Ask the nurses, ask the other patients, ask the doctors. Make sure you are comfortable about their answers. I do not regret going to Mexico for my surgery. If I had to do it again, I would, and Dr A. is the best in my opinion to do it again.

Be at ease, you are in safe hands. LOL I probably sound like the staff of Dr A, and I can assure you I am not, just a patient, nothing else, and very pleased with my results from a bargain basement price. The facilities are clean, not as awesome as the US hospitals we pay a premium for, but clean and safe and at a higher standard than the rest of Mexico... Probably because us Americans are so spoiled lol

Dr A is probably the best in the field. He is very good at what he does. He's prob done the most GS surgeries than any other doctor alive. He is a young guy, and from what I've been told, he has the GS also. He charges only $4,500 and that is considerably alot less than what you would pay in the US. How does he get away with only charging so little? Because in the US, the doctors have to pay a considerable amount of money for liability lawsuit insurance and hospital usage charges. Dr A also will do typically 8-12 people a day, taking about 15-45 minutes per person. The surgery goes by so quick, you wonder if you even have it done. You are complty out so there is no chance of waking up. Yes, I agree, there is so much disinformation out in the US, I also had that fear. I even heard stories about doctors taking a kidney, you getting robbed, be on the market for body organs for the black market. None of that is true. Well, it may be, but I felt safe with Dr A and there are so many others getting the surgery around you, and you are encouraged to talk and build friendships with the other Sleevers. The nurses are the weak link down there, at times I thought they could of been more compassionate, but its the typical Mexican culture. We Americans expect to be treated like royalty by our doctors and the hospital staff, we lost out on economical surgery. Are you ever in danger? No. Does the nurses provide everything you need and move quickly if you are in danger? YES!
